After hearing "Dog Eat Dog" on the radio in 1981, I became a BIG fan of Adam and The Ants! When I traveled to London in 1984, the band was still quite a phenomenon...particularly Adam Ant himself! His face was everywhere...especially in all the small, trendy shops on King's Road, in Chelsea, London, which carried an extensive array of music-oriented merchandise. I brought home posters, buttons, tee shirts, key-chains, cards, and magazines...all with either Adam Ant's likeness, or the name of the band.

The music was addictive...and rather unique at the time. I just couldn't get enough of it! This 2 CD set is a great collection of many of the best works from several albums, including some of my favorites from Kings Of The Wild Frontier (1980), and Prince Charming (1981)...the much later Vive Le Rock (1985)...as well as some of Adam Ant's popular solo works like, Friend Or Foe, Strip, and Goody Two Shoes. Each of the two discs features 18 tracks...totalling 36 wonderful songs in all...a special treat for any die-hard "Ant-fan"...or a great introduction to "Ant-music" for those who are not as familiar, but curious about checking out one of the most influential pop icons of the 1980's!

If you like punk rock or new age music and the 1980's you will love this 2-disc CD. It is the best of all of Adam's hits - and more.
I just finished reading his autobiography, a great read by the way, and listen to these timeless treasures all the time.
Especially if you are an Adam Ant fan you must have this recording!!! Love it. Love him. Get it!!!!!!!!!!!!

Strange group from the 80's--I enjoyed them. This is all the Ants you will ever need. Hot tracks and more from Adam and the boys. Best 2 disk overview out there---often hard to find. The four disk anthology is way too much money and the single disk not enough music. Enjoy.

In questo Best Of si ripercorre l'intera carriera di Adam Ant, incominciando con le prime canzoni cantate nel suo gruppo originario, ovvero gli "Adam & The Ants", fino ad arrivare a quelle più recenti. Se amate generi quali la new wave o il post punk, ma non disdegnate nemmeno il pop più commerciale, allora questo Best Of fa sicuramente per voi, pieno di suoni eclettici, chitarre distorte al punto giusto e riff che si fanno apprezzare già al primo ascolto.

Wer immer diese CDs zusammengestellt hat:

Er hat mal wirklich Ahnung und Geschmack bewiesen!

Bis zu "Vive le rock" ist alles dabei, was Adam an genialem fabriziert hat - einschließlich Klassikern wie "Jolly Roger" oder "S.E.X.", die es aus unerfindlichen Gründen nie als Single-Auskopplung gegeben hat.

Ersteres würde wohl heute noch ( evtl. in Zusammenhang mit einem weitern "Fluch der Karibik" - Teil ) die Charts stürmen!

Nach Vive le rock ist musikalisch leider ja auch nicht mehr sooo viel passiert und auf Dinge wie "Room at the top" usw. hätte man auch verzichten können, wenn sie nicht zuimndest ein Lebenszeichen von Adam gewesen wären... ok: "Wonderful" ist eine herausragende Ausnahme, aber die sollte man ohnehin separat genießen.

"Persuasion" ist ja nun leider rechtlich auf der Strecke geblieben und wird wohl für immmer nur ein bootleg- Dasein fristen müssen. Also auch nicht vertreten...

Damit hält der werte Käufer also die ultimative Compilation der besten Antsongs in Händen !

Zuschlagen und genießen mit dem alten Schlachtruf von Adam and the Antz:

"Antmusic for Sexpeople!"

(Bitte die Bässe etwas hochregeln, damit die doppelten drums der alten Stücke auch wirklich gut rüberkommen und auch die Nachbarn daran teilhaben können!)
