Bang Bang, Orangután
Sometimes all it take is one little mistake, one little tragic, shocking, devastating, soul-crushing mistake. Bang Bang Orangutang features Mikael Persbrandt as Åke, a family man who perpetrates an unforgivable offense on his way home from work. His family, job, self-respect, and happiness quickly abandons him, and he flails while desperately searching for something to give his life new purpose.
"Dark" is one of those terms that's been thrown around so much that it's kind of lost much of its meaning when talking about the mood of a story. That said, Bang Bang Orangutang is seriously DARK. It's the kind of downward spiral that never even hints at a chance for an upbeat resolution. It's an amazing performance/character-study by Persbrandt. I know this description is pretty vague, but this is one of those movies where I think a person will get more out of it, the less they know going into it.
i rated this low, solely because the lead rubbed me the wrong way. You might enjoy him, but I found him to be extremely creepy. Some great punk songs on here and the story is good. And how can these people wear only sweatshirts and spring jackets when it's snowing outside?
