Science is a subject that combines all the other subjects and builds on the learnt knowledge and skills to explore the World.

At Gorokan High School students of all abilities are taught by a dynamic staff who make learning fun. Students are guided and encouraged to investigate, experiment and research topics to engage in the Branches of Science…Biology, Chemistry, Geology and Physics.

The staff organise interactive classroom activities, excursions and experiences that are authentic and challenge our students to increase their understanding of the world we share. The staff also extend their interaction with our students by actively involving themselves in extra-curricular activities, such as Welfare programs, sporting and STEM teams.

The quality of the staff allows Gifted and Talented and Senior students to extend their understanding of specific Science courses, preparing our students for life after school. Whether that be in workplaces or tertiary studies as they pursue careers in technology, medicine, engineering, manufacturing and other related Science fields.

Finally, understanding Science is necessary in the modern world. It is a key part of understanding breaking news, interacting with our planet, choosing and using technology, and even making healthcare decisions. Without knowing it, Science at Gorokan High School prepares students for their adult life, regardless of the career path they choose.
