INDIANAPOLIS – On Sunday afternoon, Cheyenne Parker was Atlanta’s stopper.
“She did what she does,” Atlanta head coach Tanisha Wright said after the game, a 93-90 loss to the Indiana Fever inside Gainbridge Fieldhouse.
Parker had 24 points and 10 rebounds in the contest, dueling with Alliyah Boston and the cohort of Indiana bigs on the low block. Parker’s line also sported a +7 +/-, a mark that was a team-high for the Dream in the result.
Her efforts helped spearhead a second-half run that gave Atlanta command of the game for much of the second half, commanding the boards and finding buckets down low.
It’s Parker’s first double-double since before the All-Star break, July 9 versus the Sky in Chicago. Over a month later, Parker’s double-double is the seventh of the season and 22nd of her career, the first since that July afternoon was the footer of a three-game stretch in which she accomplished the feat in three straight games.
In four games versus the Fever this season, Parker averaged 19.0 points and 7.2 rebounds per outing. For the year, Parker is now up to 14.5 points and 6.8 rebounds a night.
