Rochelle Hudson was one of the least known of the film noir actresses featured in a 2008 UCLA film series on the genre, and her films were the pulpiest of those screened.
"Girls Under 21" had her as a gangster's moll returning to the old neighborhood, while the truly bizarre "Island of Doomed Men" had her costarring as the wife of Peter Lorre's demented slave driver.
She also appeared with Lorre in 1938's "Mr. Moto Takes a Chance." In this outing from the series of Mr. Moto films, Lorre masquerades as an archeologist in the Asian jungles while trying to discover which members of a local tribe are planning a military coup. Hudson costars as a famous aviator who is also a spy.
