Cicely L. Tyson Community Middle/High School Reviews
Rating 3.6 out of 5 210 reviews
The best parts of Tyson is the sense of community and family that you get. The school is a performing arts school so we get to see our peers put their heart into what they truly love. The cons is that it’s not strong when it comes to the stem sector. The computer lab is very underwhelming and is in need of serious upgrades and outside activities relating to stem are always hosted by other school in the district.
The best parts about going to Cicely L. Tyson since Middle School is the numerous opportunities for academic and artistic growth. The Tyson family significantly values a blend of arithmetic and creative pursuits. I am able to participate in several school and community related activities. I maintain well grades because Tyson provides a balanced schedule for all. The least favorable aspects of Tyson is students’ lack of mobility. The school cannot allow students to leave once they are finished with their studies. Instead, they must stay until the school day is officially over. This limits those who desire to pursue other ventures. Students may want to work part time or attend extra college classes however the extra school time hinders them. I would like students to be able to leave early after obtaining all their necessary credits. Students who can leave early are able to fully support their other needs. This privilege would deeply increase productivity and independence.
Being at Cicley Tyson has groomed me into becoming the best woman I can possibly be. From being a sixth grader to now graduation high school, I created bounds with all my teachers and some staff. Created a lot of memories and events went on a lot of school trips. Overall, if I could do it again I would, but I'm excited to move up into a different chapter of my life.
