Aamir Khan says he took notes of ex-wife Reena Dutta’s facial expressions during intense labor pain; latter got furious, slapped and bit him

Bollywood actor Aamir Khan recently appeared on Netflix’s The Great Indian Kapil Show. Amidst laughter, he recalled important moments in his life, including the birth of his eldest son, Junaid Khan, with ex-wife Reena Dutta. Aamir vividly recounted the day, recalling Reena’s intense labor pains and his attempts to comfort her, which proved futile. Eventually, he was asked to step back and what happened next left the audience in splits. 

On the show, Aamir recounted the day when his oldest son Junaid was born. The actor said that Reena was in extreme pain. He said, “As a good husband, I had practiced those breathing exercises. As the labor got too intense, I tried to calm her down. But I got slapped followed by ‘stop this nonsense.’ She was in extreme pain, she even bit my hand.”

He continued, “I looked at Reena’s face and whenever she experienced that labor pain, her facial expression was ‘surprise and disbelief’. She couldn’t fathom the intensity of the pain. As an actor I was like, ‘For extreme pain, surprise and disbelief are the expressions.” When Reena and Junaid came home, Aamir told his wife about her facial expressions. He said, “She was furious. She was like, ‘I was in pain and you were seeing my expressions.”

Aamir Khan and Reena Dutta tied the knot in 1986. The couple, who have two children–Ira and Junaid, parted ways in 2002. The PK actor in 2005 got married to filmmaker Kiran Rao. Aamir and Kiran announced their divorce in 2021. The duo continue to co-parent their son Azad.
