How to create an Argent wallet

Creating Argent X wallet

Argent X is available for Chromium, Firefox and Microsoft Edge browsers. It is recommended that you use Argent X on PC and not in a mobile browser. 

  1. Download Chrome, Firefox or Microsoft Edge extension, depending which browser you are using. 
  2. A tab will open that will allow you to create a new wallet or recover an existing one. Click Create a new wallet. We do not recommend importing a seed phrase from a different wallet to create a new Argent X wallet for better security. 
  3. Agree or refuse to allow Argent to track anonymous usage data. 
  4. Create and confirm a password to protect your browser extension.
  5. Select the type of account you want to create: Standard account or Smart account
  6. If you chose to create a Smart account, enter your email address and verify it via numeric code sent to you in an email message. 
  7. Click Finish. 

IMPORTANT: Once your wallet is created you can't see or copy an account address before you view and acknowledge saving the seed phrase of the wallet. 

Creating Argent Web wallet on Starknet

Web wallet on Starknet is the easiest wallet to create. You only need a working email address for this. 

  1. Go to https://web.argent.xyz/
  2. Enter your email address. You need to have access to this email address for security notifications and verification of your wallet, so please do not use a temporary mailbox.
  3. Enter the 6-digit code you received in your mailbox.
  4. Enter and confirm your password. 

Your web-wallet is created now. Please use the password you remember or back it up safely, as you can only reset the password if you have access to the original browser you logged in with. 

Creating Argent mobile wallet

Argent mobile wallet can be used on iOS(v 16.x or newer) or Android (v 8.0 or newer) 

  1. Download Argent on iOS or Android
  2. Open the app on your phone, go through the onboarding screens and tap Get Started
  3. Reserve a username (must be 5-30 characters). You will need to read and accept our Terms and Conditions and Privacy Policy. Then tap the arrow button > Accept. 
  4. Enter your email address (required) and verify your email. 
  5. Enter your phone number (also for security)
  6. Enter the code you received in SMS message.
  7. Choose a passcode to protect your wallet
  8. (Optional) Enable biometric security, such as face recognition on iOS.

Your wallet is set now. You will be prompted to setup your wallet off-chain recovery. 

If you plan on using Argent Vault (Ethereum mainnet wallet), you will need to activate it first before using.
