Geoffrey Macnab Sight & Sound The film continually highlights how easily the seemingly civilised, rational inhabitants of the small town lose their moral bearings - and how irrational their behaviour is. Apr 9, 2018 Full Review Anthony Quinn Independent (UK) The acting on all fronts is outstanding, with Mikkelsen holding the centre magnificently as the wronged teacher, his life contaminated by the slow-acting poison of rumour. Rated: 4/5 Dec 16, 2013 Full Review James Adams Globe and Mail The Hunt's inexorability feels derived more from thematic or ideological concerns than any organic necessity. Rated: 2.5/4 Dec 16, 2013 Full Review Keith Garlington Keith & the Movies “The Hunt” can be difficult to watch. It’s confrontational and unflinching. Yet its thought-provoking questions are soaked in realism and relevance. Rated: 4.5/5 Aug 21, 2022 Full Review Yasser Medina Cinefilia It is those themes of communal psychology and the symbolism of loss of innocence that make 'The Hunt (Jagten)' a truly immersive drama. [Full review in Spanish] Rated: 7/10 Jun 25, 2020 Full Review Ryan Syrek The Reader (Omaha, NE) The Hunt is not exactly date movie. In fact, unless you enjoy the feeling of simmering in a warm tub smothered with guilt gravy and stewing in awkward juice, things are going to get uncomfortable. Benjamin H Mads Mikkelsen gives an excellent performance in this raw, realistic and harrowing drama that really goes to show how one innocent lie and rumour can ruin a man's life. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 05/25/24 Full Review Daniel G Disturbing movie about how fake news really is a virus and how, once considered guilty, even if wholly innocent, one is never quite free of suspicion. I missed the protagonist talking about the alternative of moving away and the lack of a bridge between the critical moments of conflict and forgiveness. Impactful ending. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 04/13/24 Full Review Luan L "Anyone can become a god or a devil. All it takes is for people to believe it." Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 04/06/24 Full Review Murray C A bold exploration of the other side of sexual abuse, when an innocent person is wrongly accused. Mads Mikkleson's towering performance leads a strong cast in a film that is hard to watch but very rewarding. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/31/24 Full Review The H "Don't accuse someone of thing with ignorance, you'll regret it later" - Quran Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 03/02/24 Full Review Montague J The only movie that ever stressed me out so much that I had to pause it and read the plot summary on Wikipedia to relieve the tension. A very well-made and powerful film. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 02/08/24 Full Review Read all reviews
