I will not be rating this film.
I was not able to finish it. In fact, I was not able to get past the first 10 minutes.
I am vegan (as you probably know because I'm a vegan and that means I never shut up about being vegan - did you know I'm vegan?). I get on with a lot of people in the vegan community. I like a lot of the animal rights activists I've come across, especially the online activists*. But overall, as a lot of people know, the vegan community can be controversial.
I am refusing to rate this documentary as, in the first five minutes, someone compares the meat-eating to the institution of slavery. People who…
Okay, sure, but can someone help me draw the line between where this is semi-educational about the vegan lifestyle and where it’s straight up shaming humans for maintaining an order of the food chain that we’ve existed by since the beginning of time? I just disagree. I admire people who manage to live the lifestyle in such a way and I respect the environmental notions but I think it was a bit flimsy to put up some videos of chickens and say « don’t kill them they’re cute ».
Also you can’t compare slavery or racial inequality to animal cruelty it’s just an unfortunate truth that there is a separation among species depending on complexity of communication sorry ya just can’t my dudes
Cloe if you see this I’m sorry
This crowd-funded production is about vegans and vegan diets, as expexted.
At the beginning a woman explains why she is vegan: She doesn´t want to abuse and enslave animals. Ok. But: This lady has a dog. I´m wondering: what is this dog eating? Very likely dog food. And what is doog food usually made of? Livestock kept in industrial meat production.... How is it even possible that in a documentary about veganism dogs and cats as pets aren´t even questioned????
I can´t take people like this serious. The director of this production disqualifies himself to me in the first few minutes.
It should be clarified that a world withoug industrial meat production would be a world with very small numbers…
okay honestly. boring. as. hell. yes the information is great, but having already watched a documentary that had presented me with the same information: this one was a bore. it was not interesting at all besides when it actually talked about whag can be done to help the env. and how going vegetarian actually helps wktj that. it had nothing besides information thrown at your face tho and really made it hard for me to retain my focus for the whole 80
minutes
A lovely film made up largely of interviews with lots of different vegans and why they chose the lifestyle. It manages to cover a lot of subject matter in a short time, discussing how veganism is a positive choice for the animals, the planet, our health etc. Very inspiring :)
Cute little documentary. Was pretty boring and others did it better in my opinion.
❤
An important film. Some really interesting insights into animal rights and food production.
This made me happy, angry & sad all at once. Self explanatory really. Open those facinating eyes of yours...
