More diversity and things to educate people on cultures and such, in order to avoid ignorant comments and beliefs. More inclusive behavior from the teachers and staff. Also, information regarding adult life, such as taxes, mortgage, 401k. It would be beneficial to all if there was a class, or something similar, that explains these terms and teaches students how to set up or how to deal with a specific problem. Additionally, I think the school should give an opportunity for the students to suggest to the teachers how they can become more engaged with the content they are currently learning
Overall Southwestern is a decent school. We have a strong STEM program and have decent athletics. We lack in diversity but that may be due to our areas demographics.
Attending Southwestern Central School is somewhat decent. However, there have been many challenges that I have faced over the years. Such as the feeling of acceptance that seems to be lacking to this day. My fellow classmates are extremely quick to judge another person's appearance which can be hard for others and to let individuals be themselves. A great part about attending is how well my academic performance is, and how I was able to persevere through all my core classes. If could change anything about the school, I would want others to stop being so quick to judge and let others have a chance.
