• Numerous teleplays for NBC's Emmy-winning LAW & ORDER, LAW & ORDER: SVU, Fox's NEW YORK UNDERCOVER (1996, 1997, 2000). Created actor Benjamin Bratt's LAW & ORDER character, Detective Rey Curtis.

• Author, "Are You There Alone:?" The Unspeakable Crime of Andrea Yates, an investigation of the social reaction to a mother's crime of drowning her five children in the bathtub of their Houston home in 2001. Response of mental health, medical, legal, criminal justice, religious, and family systems to mental health-related tragedy. The book's revelation of false expert testimony resulted in the guilty verdict in the death penalty case being overturned on appeal. Published by Simon & Schuster [February 2004], Pocketbooks [June 2005]. Foreign editions: Britain and Indonesia. Edgar Allan Poe Award nominee 2005.
