I like that you can do some things hang out with friends, explore the city while being in school! I would like to see the buildings and houses renovated and nice looking.
Some professors are super nice but a lot of the classes like math and chem are extremely hard and majority of the people in my classes are also failing the exams and retaking the courses. I rarely feel safe on campus but its okay other than that.
I liked that the campus is located in a city, with pretty solid public transportation. The campus size was small, so it was easy to get around and felt like a community despite it having a large student body. I took a variety of classes, many with interesting and unique subject matters, especially those in the English department.
It's an alright school, but some of the professors in my major were incompetent and the workload was extreme at times. I enjoyed seeing other students' projects and working on my own projects. Also, I liked that we had guest speakers every week/month to come in and talk about my major and the work they do.
The UWM administrators care more about their salariales than student safety or services. My Title IX case was terribly mishandled.
It’s also very hard to graduate in 4 years. Myself and several of my peers took 4.5 or more to finish. The Chemistry department is awful - I majored in Bio and took more Chemistry classes than Biology throughout my degree. This school did not set me up for success in any way.

I mostly wish the school was in a better area, though most of Milwaukee is not a good area to be in. Food options were not the best and they changed the food system so you had to pay for your own food more often even though you paid a lot for food credits each semester. Teachers were good for the most part though.
Their criminal justice program is out of this world. With the field work abilities, the excellent professors willing to help you in any way possible, it's excellent.
It's only my second semester, but my experience has been fairly good so far. I prefer the in-person classes to the completely online classes. Almost all of my teachers so far have been very friendly and accommodating. Most of my classes have been very fun, and I've enjoyed learning the content. I work on campus, and my boss is very accommodating and friendly, and she made it a lot easier for me to adjust to both college life and working. Working on campus allows me to choose my schedule of classes and then send my schedule to my boss and they'll figure out a work schedule for the next semester so you're not scheduled during a class or right before a class. My experience so far has been pretty pleasant.
I simply would like the school to shrug off it's commuter school reputation and start encouraging traditional college life activities and traditions.
I had transferred to University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee after my freshman at UW-Green Bay, I was searching for myself and somewhere I could be comfortable. I am ecstatic to consider myself an alumni as well as a current masters program student, I've met my favorite professors here in the history program and met my best friends who will stick with me till the end. This university brings all aspects of life to the city of Milwaukee, whether you are searching for a fun and exciting nightlife/shops and restaurants, great academics with wonderful professors, or a university with so many unique individuals or people to meet, then UW-Milwaukee is the best choice. I am so happy with myself for stepping out of my comfort zone and choosing this institution where I have found who I am and have found happiness.
The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee is an amazingly connected university with plentiful ammounts of opportunities for students to interact on campus. The activities board is very active with activites for students and saftey is a very large concern. Classes varry per major, but are very thorough and in-depth. The residence halls are often matinenced, but the food in the dining halls is often mediocre at best. The city is integrated into campus life and truly brings alive campus.
I had a great experience as a student-athlete at UW-Milwaukee. It was very inclusive as well as a Latina. For the first time in my life i felt like I belonged in a community. There were so many extracurriculars to be a part of and volunteer opportunities to outreach the community.
I have had an overall good experience my first year at Milwaukee, I have good support from the staff, there's lots of new and different opportunities here to be involved more. The housing and academics are really nice and beneficial to me. The only draw back would be our cafeteria food otherwise they provide us with a lot of nice things, such as the gym, the athletic center, the support from academic advisors as well.
I have luckily had a positive experience ith my class and have been able to find a nice community of people, some of the office officials have been difficult to deal with.
Overall, my experience at UW Milwaukee has been very positive. I have loved being able to continue my education and meet so many new people. I can't wait for what comes next!
What I like about UWM is the people. I didn’t know I was going to make a lot of friends and I ended up making a ton. They have a good impact over me and I have a one over them. We motivate each other to do our best.
There is always something to do and the community is very close and you get a lot of one on one time
