Sarah Lahbati and Richard Gutierrez still have something in common—the desire to give their sons the best life they can. That is why they did not miss the chance to celebrate their youngest son Kai's birthday—although separately.
On March 23, 2024, both Sarah and Richard shared moments from their own birthday parties for Kai. Sarah even penned the sweetest message for her son who has been spreading cuteness all over her Instagram feed!
"I’m so lucky to be your mom, Kai. Your smile is the most contagious blessing in the world. No words can express how much I love you and Zion. Six years of joy. Happy birthday, bubba. Momma will forever and always be by your side," Sarah wrote on IG. Along with the sentimental caption came a carousel of the most endearing pics of Kai. He's such a cutie!
Sarah also shared a video of Kai's *surprise* birthday celebration with her family. The theme was the popular kid's game, Minecraft. Present in the video was Sarah's mother and Kai's maternal grandmother, Esther Lahbati.
Over on his Instagram, Richard first posted on his Instagram Story a simple video of the Gutierrez fam singing happy birthday to Kai. Present in the video were Kai's paternal grandmother, Annabelle Rama, his brother, Zion, and some of his cousins.
Richard also threw a grand Minecraft-themed party for Kai, which was attended by their extended family and closest friends. It was held at The Bellevue Manila. The actor proudly shared photos and videos from the party through his IG stories.

In recent interviews, Sarah made it clear that she's not on speaking terms with her estranged husband, Richard. After their marriage fell apart sometime in late 2023, the actress gradually revealed their situation to the public.
Without revealing the true reason for their split, Sarah shared that they are no longer living together but are maintaining a co-parenting setup for their kids. "It's not easy on any child but I'm here for them and they're better," she assured.
Both she and Richard are united in their commitment to raising their kids. "Well, of course, it's not ideal for the children, let's go back to the kids. But that's life and that'll be fine. We're good at parenting and we have, you know, we are there for the kids. That's all I'm gonna say," she said.
It was only in March 2024 that Sarah *officially* confirmed her relationship status. Her statement came after months of speculations surrounding their alleged marital problems.
"Yeah, I mean. there’s nothing to hide. And I think it’s pretty clear to the public na both of us... I think," she declared in an interview.
