“Cool For Cats” was the second single off of the same-named 1979 Squeeze album. It is a rarity in that it is one of only two A side singles sung by co-writer Chris Difford instead of the usual Squeeze lead vocalist Glenn Tilbrook. It peaked at number 2 on the UK Singles charts making it one of their most successful songs.

In 1992/1993, the song was used (with altered product specific lyrics) for the “Wake Up to Milk” series of U.K. milk adverts. Their success prompted a re-release of the song and it reached number 62 on the charts.
