Lower table rock is steeper, one should be in good shape or better. Upper table rock takes about 90 minutes, easier for seniors or physically limited hikers. views are amazing. Pets are not allowed on trails.

If you're wondering "is it worth" the hike - yes. It's not too difficult but be mindful of the time of day and season you are making the hike. Snakes like warm places and the warmest place on Table Rock is the top.

We hiked Upper Table Rock this morning about 10 am and it was awesome!
We were a group of 4, ages 60, 58, 50, 30 and we are minimally fit. We took about 2 hours to hike it and that time included about 15 minutes at the top enjoying the view :) The trail was moderately difficult in our opinion (listed as easy), but we have never hiked a trail like this before. It is listed as 1.5 miles.
Wear shoes that fit well, bring water, and a camera. In fact, we brought a backpack and noticed that most others did as well.
I'll warn you in advance *NO DOGS ALLOWED!* and the parking lot is FULL sun with no respite to leave them in the car. I would recommend leaving them at your hotel. Also, no bikes. BRs present.
This was a great trail and we plan to return several times before we leave and a few more before we hike Lower Table Rock (it's longer, 3 miles, and listed as moderate).

Brought our pup to both the lower and upper trail heads after doing some research and finding they were dog friendly. Drove to each trail head entrance and saw the 'no dogs allowed' signs. Super disappointed and had to turn around and leave. Giving it the 1 star for misleading information found on different hiking sites and apps.

We hiked Upper Table Rock in late June. It is considered a moderate hike and with my knee issues, I easily, but slowly, hiked the trail and around half of the plateau. A beautiful view of the surrounding valleys and Mt. McLaughlin. It is well worth the effort. We arrived at the trailhead about 7 AM and made it back around 12:30, with plenty of breaks. Make sure to take water and a few snacks...and don't forget your camera.

I hiked Lower Table Rock as a solo female, and had such a great experience! I was there somewhat early in the morning over Memorial Day weekend and while I encountered a few other people, the trail definitely was not crowded. I didn't see too much in the way of wildlife, but there were a few different kinds of lovely flowers. The trail is incredibly well-maintained and hiking boots really aren't necessary--sturdy running shoes worked fine. The incline is somewhat steep in the middle, and might be tough for a person who is very out-of-shape. I admittedly don't exercise regularly at all but I'm relatively petite so didn't find it hard to haul myself up the slope. I encourage hikers to continue past the "boardwalk" at the top in order to see the most spectacular views. Note - dogs are not allowed on this trail as there is a protected grassland on top of the rock.

There are two sepearate hikes to upper and lower table rock. The upper table rock hike is shorter but it is quite strenuous with its rocky switch backs. It is also exposed to the sun and it is much warmer than the lower table rock hike. Both hikes have an enormous amount of poison oak and there is a lot of ticks. Take water with you and hike the trails. Making it to the top is the real reward with stunning views of the Rogue River Valley and Mt. Mcgloughlin. Thevolcanic table top is covered with wild flowers in the spring. If you are young and in shape you can do both hikes in one day. We did the upper hike one day (shorter but harder) and the lower table rock the next day which was longer and easier. Nature Conservancy is doing a wonderful job caring for these two wonderful hikes. Leave your dog at home. No dogs on the trail...

Just moved to Medford OR and explored Lower Table Rock. I found it to be very challenging to get to the top. It was a rainy and cold day but I made it. Also saw bluebirds, and yellow rumpled warblers at the beginning of the trail. Plan on returning again for more birding and hiking! Lots of runners, hikers and families out !

My family and I hiked Lower Table Rock July 3, 2016, and started our hike at 7:30 in the morning. It is about 1.3 miles to the top and starts out fairly easily. At about .3 miles in, you hit a fairly steep section. It then levels out, but then gets steep again, especially right before the top. I would not call this an "easy" hike. It is a moderate hike. My family is in pretty good shape and we got a great workout from this hike. Anyone can do this, but depending on your physical condition, you may have to take your time. It took us 30 minutes to get to the top. A walking stick would be helpful for some. Also, wear closed-toe shoes or sturdy tennis shoes. No flip flops! 😳. There are loose rocks on the way up to the top.

If you go in summer, go early! It is fairly shaded on the way up, but there is not a lot of shade once you get to the top. Take plenty of water. We started at 7:30 AM and were done by 9:30. We passed a lot of people going up as we were coming down.

It's a nice walk with a great view at the top! Take your time and take lots of water and you won't be disappointed by the vistas at the top! Be sure to read the signs about how the Table Rocks formed and the legends of Takelma Indians.

Great short hike. The spring flowers were lovely and the view of the valley quite nice. Not a difficult hike - path fairly well kept. No entrance, free parking / parking lot with Toilet facilities (only in the parking lot)
