EXCELLENT
STUDY SITES

The geographical location of KUG uniquely combines Austrian tradition in music and performing arts with the creative potential of Eastern and Southeastern Europe. While you can enjoy all the benefits of student life with its numerous cultural offerings in Graz - which is rich in tradition and is the capital of the state of Styria and the second largest city in Austria - you will discover the most beautiful surprises where you would not expect them: in the middle of nature - between Vienna and Graz - is the study location Oberschützen, which is an ideal place for intensive studying and practicing, far from the hustle and bustle.

INTERNATIONALLY
SUCCESSFUL
STUDENTS

It is a great concern of KUG to support our 2,400 students, who are coming from about 70 different countries, in their (further) education as well as on an administrative level individually and optimally. Additionally, many opportunities for performing in public as well as diverse competitions and courses of all kinds are being supported on a regular basis. These activities illustrate the skills of the students of KUG.

In addition to numerous famous graduates, the great achievements of the students are honored by presenting winners of competitions on a regular basis. The young artists also benefit from the measures taken by KUG for supporting young talents and are introduced to an artistic career at an early stage due to the intensive exchange with other educational institutions.

INTERNATIONALLY
SUCCESSFUL
TEACHERS

Learning from the best - this is KUG's daily common practice. Internationally renowned and experienced teachers pass on their know-how in suitable learning settings to their students at KUG. Whether on international concert tours or in workshops, in one-to-one lessons or in the course of Guest Auditions - students benefit from the many years of experience of these experts, who are always searching for the best solution for the individual artistic personality.

NUMEROUS PRACTICE AND
PERFORMANCE OPPORTUNITIES

KUG provides an optimal design of the course of studies due to numerous guest courses, workshops and public performance opportunities. The university sees itself not only as a training institution, but is also committed to the further development of the arts. KUG opens to the interested public and others e.g. in the form of subscription cycles, international competitions and the CD series "Klangdebüts" - recordings exclusively with students - and thus can be experienced in addition to the numerous events for a broad public. Important performance venues are, among others, the traditional “Florentinersaal”, the multifunctional Theater in the Palais (T.i.P.) and the avant-garde "CUBE". Since 2009 KUG has been able to use the “MUMUTH” (House of Music and Music Theatre) as an event building with numerous classrooms.

IDEAL
INFRASTRUCTURE

A functional and state-of-the-art infrastructure offers optimal study conditions at the study locations in Graz and Oberschützen. In addition to an easy booking of rooms and the instrument hire, students can use a number of computer rooms and PC terminals as well as an extensive library of books, sheet music, magazines, sound recordings and a media library. For a quick and easy orientation on the campus and beyond, the campus and site plan provides all the necessary information.

BEST CAREER
OPPORTUNITIES

The university supports the young artistic and scientific generation by opening up realistic career opportunities and professions. Above all, the university's Career Service Center (CSC) is an important contact and service point. The CSC is a central interface between studies and profession and provides career-relevant information and service offers.
