- JGill89Paris, France1 contributionSuch a wonderful experience! The staff are so kind and friendly. The exhibits are well thought out and stunning. The maker space art area is large and airy. We went 3 times during our trip. Our 3 year old loved it so much. The cafe has kid friendly foods, but closes at 4pm so plan accordingly :)

- VinzNew York City, NY105 contributionsOlympia is the capital of Washinton State, Unlike Seattle, which is more popular with tourists, Olympia is a laid-back tourist destination. There are no malls, shops, or well-known restaurants, around the area but you will be spoiled with breathtaking views and magnificent architecture that surround this place. Washington State Capitol Building and Campus resemble what you will see in Washington DC but are less crowded.Written October 31, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Pistol PeteMedford, NJ100 contributionsThe prices were very reasonable for the quality of the crafts and produce. The butchers meats looked incredible!! Got some fish and chips at on of the many, diverse, food stands. Great place!Written August 5, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - BLTurpinShaker Heights, OH967 contributionsSquaxin Park was recommended by a retired couple whom we met at North Point. Not knowing what to expect, and being extremely new to the area, we decided to take their recommendation and check it out. What a surprise!!
The part is bisected by East Bay Drive Northeast. So, in order to see all of the park, be sure to traverse both parts.
Picnic at the Samarkand Rose Garden (East Side). The shelter there is new, lovely, and well maintained. If the roses are blooming, as they were for us, even better! Restrooms are close by. Then, you can explore the trails on the east side. Be sure to look for the little waterfall grotto area.
On the west side, you will find gorgeous trails. We walked to Ellis Cove. Note that this cove does not have beach access. If you want beach access, follow the trails to the "Beach Access" area. Please note that the trails have many steps, and there is quite a bit of climbing and descending. This is not a mountain hike but it is not an easy walk.
We spent time wading in the beach area. Signs are posted warning about swimming, and also about the need to shower off after leaving the water Fishing, crabbing, and digging for clams is not allowed! However, from the beach area, one has glorious views of the capitol building across the water.
Squaxin Park is one of the most beautiful city parks I have ever seen! It is heavily wooded and looks like something out of another world. Do not miss it!Written August 3, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - akasukittravelFort Lauderdale, FL141 contributionsThis is a must see if you love wildlife. The boardwalk is well kept and wheelchair and stroller accessible. We spotted eagles, seals and a bear on our last trip.Written August 21, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - MargieGarciaWashington152 contributionsI was looking for a good spot to spend the golden hour and take some photos and it this park was perfect! ADA complaint, you cross the bridge, go down a small ramp & you’re right on the beach. The only problem is that the surface is rocky. It is dog friendly, unlike some other parks in the area.Written April 29, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - XabierZOlympia, WA8 contributionsI visited in the late evening and saw hundreds of bats it was insane. - EllenChrOslo, Norway2,583 contributionsIt taket you 30 min drive from Olympia but we thought it was worth it even though the park is a bit run down. There are a lot of things to see - some are quite fun as well. It’s a place where kids probably also would enjoy it as there were quite a few sculptures/installations which you can make sounds on. It’s free which is a plus as well.Written July 6, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- MmarymommPleasanton, CA1,673 contributionsWe stopped here on our way to Olympia. There was a red barn which was the store and the cider processing area. We looked around the store at the apples which were much cheaper than in the grocery store and bought a container of apple cider and an apple turnover. There are little tables outside and we had our cider and turnover there. The cider was very good and the turnover was pretty good but could have used some more time in the oven. - Olena SBellevue, WA10 contributionsWe rented the boat and went around the lake. Lots of trees and branches are underwater. Cold but clear water. I would guess end of July would be a great time for swimming in the lake.Written March 5, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Marcia L4 contributionsThis was a fun and educational outing. We highly recommend doing the Scavenger Hunt. They have it broken down into different age groups and they even gave a small prize for completing it. They were featuring sharks when we visiting and the kids loved the shark activities.Written July 28, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
