Crystal Peoples-Stokes (Democratic Party) is a member of the New York State Assembly, representing District 141. She assumed office in 2003. Her current term ends on January 1, 2025.

Peoples-Stokes (Democratic Party) is running for re-election to the New York State Assembly to represent District 141. She declared candidacy for the Democratic primary scheduled on June 25, 2024.[source]

Peoples-stokes was elected State House Majority Leader in 2018.[1]

Biography

Peoples-Stokes earned her B.S. in Elementary Education from Buffalo State College and her M.S. in Student Personnel Administration from Buffalo State College. Her professional experience includes being regional director for Citizen Action of New York, working as a program coordinator for Saint Augustine Center and a job developer for Buffalo Urban League.[2] Peoples-Stokes' political experience includes being a majority leader for the Erie County Legislature and a Democratic Zone Leader, Zone 26.

Incumbent Crystal Peoples-Stokes defeated Antoine Thompson and Veronica Nichols in the Democratic primary. Pamela Riester was removed from the ballot before the Republican primary.
