The Descendents' debut album, Milo Goes to College, is one of the most important records in the history of American punk rock. Building on the Ramones' outsider lore and sidestepping the machismo that was already starting to seep into the punk scene, the California group proudly embraced their awkwardness with anthems of alienation like "Suburban Home" and “Myage”, helping build the template from which legions of pop-punk and emo disciples would learn their craft.
