You might think the best thing about this hotel is the location for the price but the staff is even better.
Every single staff person that I ran into (or asked for help) was friendly, helpful and seemed happy to be there.
The rooms are clean and the hotel well cared for. Breakfast has a nice selection and was well stocked.

He needed a place to stay near Northwestern Hospital while my husband had surgery. The hospital said they gave discounted rates but I found the same rate on kayak. I just booked myself.
The room was nice and spacious. Beds were comfy. They had firm and soft pillows which was a plus. Unfortunately due to COVID there were no amenities. No breakfast the restaurant attached to the hotel is closed. There are several nearby restaurants, and plenty of delivery options. It is half a block from the hospital which was my biggest need.
The staff at the front desk was friendly and helpful with food ideas.
If you’re planning on a long stay they don’t come to your room to refresh the towels you have to specifically ask for them and I’ll leave them for you.

Although the website while making reservations says complimentary breakfast that has been suspended due to Covid restrictions. That’s nice to know when you actually register on arrival. Sure, I know Covid has changed the rules but every other Hilton property offered a box with a breakfast sandwich, muffins, yogurt, orange juice, etc. In fact the night before we stayed at a Hampton in Zionsville, Indiana and they actually had a continental breakfast served that morning. Had we known this previously we may have stayed elsewhere. During Covid there is no room service, housekeeping, etc. I can deal with that but imagine my surprise when opened the shower curtain to find a dried washcloth with makeup all over it. Initially I thought my wife had used the cloth but she brings her own makeup remover pads. Since there is no room service it sat in the corner of the bathroom the whole stay. Thanks for letting me touch that thing, Hampton. Then add to that the safe didn’t works and the bulb in the nightlight was burned out in the bathroom. I notified them before checking out. To be fair this Hampton is close to restaurants and shops on Michigan Avenue. Also it’s easy to get a bus nearby to popular venues. It’s also close(block away)to The Corner Bakery and Starbucks. Yeah, we could at least get breakfast/coffee there. The Four story Starbucks on Michigan is a couple of blocks away for those who want to know. The few staff members I talked to were polite and courteous. Yet I am curious why when checking out we were never asked “How was your stay?”

Hello Joe B, we're very sorry for the experience you had during your tenure at our hotel. Our goal is to always make our guests feel clean and at home and it's disappointing to know when we don't achieve these goals. We'll work harder each day to implement more thorough room inspections prior to checking in. We are working with our corporate offices to bring back our food and beverage department. We understand the frustration with our breakfast services and hope that we get those up and running sooner than later. Despite the issues you occurred, we would like to extend a "thank you" for giving us the opportunity to accommodate you during your stay in Chicago.

The hotel currently is not offering housekeeping/room service/turndown service. We were not made aware of this prior to arriving. The hotel also requires a credit hold of 100/per night, again not told prior to arrival. Hotel room it’s self was not clean (tub/stains on the carpet). If you choose to stay here bring cleaning supplies. The rooms are also quite dark but maybe it’s an attempt to hide the unsavory parts about the room. You can not even have towels delivered to your room, you have to go down and request and wait while they get them. But if you choose to still stay here, plan to get them the night before. Elevator wait times can be excessive to travel down to the lobby in the morning. So much so, it took maintenance joining out already packed elevator and utilizing their key to skip the remaining floors requesting we stop. Also social distancing is a farce here as well, so bring plenty of hand sanitizer and wear your masks where appropriate. If I could give this hotel a zero I would, the only thing that is justifying the 1, was the staff whom for the most part where very friendly. However, the things I have complained about above were well outside of their control. Honestly for the overall experience for this hotel, I would say you’re better off staying at a motel6, at least they don’t pull a slight of hand trick. What you see is what you get. Also the pictures on their site are misleading. If you have to stay DT and have no other options this is the hotel for you. If you have time and wiggle room to do a bit more research, do it! Trust me.

I have stayed at Hilton Properties all across the country and specifically Hampton Inn. This location is one that needs help and fast.

I booked this trip via the Hilton app and there was a lot of information left out. No where in booking did it state that a 100 dollar hold per day would be added to my bill. I’ve seen a 50 dollar hold for the whole trip or 25 but never daily such a high amount. Not everyone can do this and we had the funds available but that took the money away from being able to used for other tourist things.

Next, no where did it state when booking that the hotel was so short staffed that there is no house keeping. We understand that there are issues with hiring but this should of been told to us upfront so I could of found a different hotel. This was a vacation for four of us and we wanted a more relaxing experience, not having to go down 38 floors for toilet paper or let old towels sit on the floor or outside the door.

We visited friends at the embassy suites not too far and it was regular service.

It states when booking there would be free breakfast and a onsite restaurant, there was none. All of this needs to be updated when booking but instead I checked in the app to find out all these things the very next day after check in.

We all now business has been affected by Covid and short staffs but all of these things should have been communicated. Instead, it wasn’t and I was embarrassed about what we got to stay at.

I will say the staff was very nice at the front desk. They did a good job of explaining these things but this horrible experience falls on the hotel management, ownership, and corporate. Very disappointed and definitely not worth what we were charged.

We are billed for our stay to cover all of these things I mentioned above and we didnt get it. I definitely would accept a full refund for this lackluster, unacceptable, and sub par stay offered by this hotel and by Hilton.

We like to avoid the stops and starts of a drive thru Chicago expressways during the day to get to Northwestern hospital which makes arrival time unpredictable. We stay at the Hampton across the street which offers a significant discount for those going to Northwestern. Plus Northwestern offers a significant discount for parking so no need to pay what the hotel charges.

Hello Sageview, one of the best ideas our sales team has created is the Northwestern patient or family member discount. It's always a pleasure to be able to assist in anything we can to make your experience more pleasant. It looks like your well aware of your options when it comes to parking and we advise all of our Northwestern guests to park at that structure because you could get it validated. We hope you were also able to enjoy the nearby attractions to us and all the great restaurants. Please don't hesitate to contact us if you need any assistance with current or future reservations. We're very flexible with working with our guests regarding dates and modifications. Thank you for allowing us the opportunity to accommodate you!

Great location just off Michigan Ave., this combination Hampton and Homewood Suite hotel is quiet and comfortable. I had a Hampton King room. The bed was very comfortable, the HVAC unit in the room was a bit loud when the fan was on, but it worked well. Shower water pressure in my room was a bit weak, but it did the job. Unfortunately because of Covid, food was limited, but there are so many places in the area to eat and drink (even during the pandemic) this was not a problem. But the best was the price. Best deal on the Magnificent Mile!

I'm only giving this a 2 for location. First I highly recommend Hilton corporate comes in and takes over ASAP! The staff doesn't talk to each other and I truly believe it's a lack of leadership from the managment. Let's discuss this hotel needs a minimum of 10 million in renovations. The bathroom was absolutely awful. The stone countertops are not fitting and look like they have never been cleaned. I walked to the Walgreens two blocks away for Clorox wipes. The results were gross. The hotel was out of conditioner. Additionally I totally understand Covid protocols mean the staff isn't cleaning the rooms during your stay, however, why does it take over 24 hours to get fresh towels. I had to ask 3 times for a new roll of toilet paper, and again still didn't get any for over 24 hours. Additionally the hotel not serving breakfast is an issue. Every other hotel (I'm Hilton Diamond) is giving out grab and go bags, but this property is totally skipping that. I assume this is a cost savings to the corporation who operates the hotel under the Hilton name. 3 times during my 4 day stay, our keys stopped working. We stayed at this property because of the outdoor pool. Like the rest of the hotel, the pool area was 100% not cleaned. Do not look near the drains. Additionally they only offer work out towels that even kids can't wrap around. The best part of the hotel is the views from the pool. I know the world is short staffed right now and I hope this hotel gets better help soon. They define need to double their housekeeping staff. I paid $200 for what is equivalent of a Days Inn.

Image getting charged full price and not receiving everything you paid for. Zero breakfast. One tiny little fridge with microwave meals, only to find there is no microwave in my room. Asked the front desk about the policy about getting my room/beds cleaned if we decided to stay over? “Actuality we don’t clean the rooms” just put your trash outside your door. This is absolutely ridiculous! Get with the rest of the word and let us get back to living our lives. I did not stay over. I promptly left the hotel, after a 1 hour wait to get my valet, and everyone I saw arriving at the hotel I saw asking to valet, I made it a point to tell them to park themselves and save the hassle. Oh and better leave your 4 legged friend at home cause he costs a fresh 100 dollar bill.

Hotel has a great location, nice proximity to restaurants and shopping. Breakfast is really good with selection of eggs, pancakes, sausage, hash browns, breads, pastries, and muffins all fresh. However one morning we accidentally spilled a cup of water on the floor. I notified the staff in the breakfast room, and they were like oh we don't have mops. Completely didn't care if any guests slipped and fell as they clearly felt it was outside their job descriptions to address in any way or even call someone else for help. As for the rooms, they're very dated and worn. There were substantial holes and rips in the carpet. The mattress were poor, one side sagged substantially and it affected the quality of our sleep. Check in was good, as a Gold member I was able to check in early before noon. However they will not clean your room without a reservation which you must put in early. We had even asked housekeeping to come by that day but they did not. This makes it difficult to get any servicing on your room for a shorter stay of two nights. Just to get clean towels we called down and after over an hour when I called back about it they could not give an estimate of when they could bring it. We had to go down to get it and then no washcloths given. This is something very basic level, clean room and towels. Then the front desk called because they tried to double charge my card, then wondered why it wouldn't authorize. I shouldn't have to give double the amount of my stay, considering there's an additional $200 hold already. I am the Hilton member of our family so my idea to stay here. We won't return on our next Chicago visit, we will go with one of my partner's IHG properties, where we've never had to schedule for housekeeping or beg for clean towels, and the mattress quality ensures a decent night's sleep.
