Alan Michael Ritchson (born November 28th, 1982) was a contestant on Season 2 and Season 3 of American Idol.

Season 2 Audition[]

Alan auditioned in Atlanta. Both Randy and Simon voted "no", eliminating him from the competition.

Season 3 Audition[]

Alan auditioned in Atlanta. He sang "You Are the Sunshine of My Life" by Stevie Wonder to Paula, whom he had an affection for. All three judges voted "yes", sending him to the next round.

Hollywood Round[]

Alan was shown in the first part of Hollywood Week. He neglected practicing to party with Lisa Wilson. During the second part, he was shown singing an original song in a sort of "strip-show" fashion. Despite irking the judges, he survived the first cut. He was shown in a group with Donnie Williams and Eric Yoder singing "Never Gonna Give You Up" by Rick Astley. He managed to progress but did not make the judges' final thirty-two.

After the Show[]

Alan received success in acting, including having TV roles in Smallville, Blue Mountain State and Black Mirror as well as film roles including The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows.
