If I had to weigh which Highlander movie I watched most in my life, it would inexplicably be Highlander 3. It had been years since I revisited it, but I remember the VHS tape being on regular rotation back when I was a kid.
After recently learning that Guns N' Roses was once in talks to provide the score, I decided to return to Highlander 3 and give a new soundtrack like I did for Highlander 2.
Returning to "The Final Dimension" or "The Sorcerer" or "the Final Conflict" depending on your region I guess, I was surprised by how well the film held up and recognized why I found this third installment so entertaining growing up. It is SO dumb compared to the original film, but it's no less fun. The story may be a little half baked, retreading much of the ground that the original film covered, but Highlander 3 is filmed stylishly and the story does contribute well to the titular character Connor MacLeod, and the world he inhabits. Mario Van Peeble's Kane is less of a Kurgan replica and more of the lovechild between the Kurgan and Jack Sparrow, with a perverse swagger that makes him inexplicably likeable.
As a result, my edit is intended to provide the original cut with a little bit more energy and MTV flair with the inclusion of seven Guns N' Roses tracks, along with some trimming of scenes to improve pacing, and enhancing the visuals to sharpen details. It may not be Citizen Kane, but it does include Mako's talking, decapitated head, so you're guaranteed a memorable time.

Added Welcome to the Jungle once the Highlander returns to New York
Cut down on some of the rapid editing during Connor's fight with Kane's underling
Added an instrumental version of Out Ta Get Me during Connor's quickening
Added November Rain during every scene between Connor and Sarah
Added You Could Be Mine after Kane sets Alex's museum ablaze and included a fade to white to help add a moment to breathe between that and her tailing MacLeod
Added Welcome to the Jungle during Kane and Connor's first fight and removed the trapeze artist bit
Cut an overt reference to Connor's previous wife Brenda dying. The lieutenant mentions a bad wreck she and Connor were in, but editing out her death here allows for Highlander 2 to feasibly occur afterwards...even though that would mean Connor had an affair with Alex in the events of this film...before Brenda ultimately does to UV radiation poisoning...
Cut all but a shot from the flashback of Sarah that we've already seen when Connor and Alex talk
Cut the line, "Death to the MacLeods" and the flashback to the first film's flashback battle
Added the instrumental version of Civil War to when Connor attempts to re-forge his sword
Cut Alex's realization about the forging block featuring a flashback to Connor's sword exploding
Removed Connor rowing a boat during his training montage
Cut the spinning weapon during the start of Kane and Connor's final fight - this felt more like a Predator weapon than an immortals and it plays no part in the film
