Savannah Christian Preparatory School Reviews
Rating 3.96 out of 5 52 reviews
I have been at Savannah Christian since kindergarten. For many of my years here I loved it and only heard wonderful things about the academics, fine arts, sports, and faculty. Recently I have seen a decline in all of these categories. Many teachers have quit or have been fired and new policies may cause academics to decline in the future. There are many parts of the school which are wonderful but as a current student and a soon alumni I am worried about the future of the high schools success.
I’ve attended SCPS for thirteen years. One of the best things about SCPS is that it places academics in high priority. During COVID, we still held school using Zoom and safety precautions when we were able to return. The worst parts of my experience is how bad the school is in actual discipline. Granted, I’m not part of the faculty or know the full story of certain infractions, but disrespect, bullying, and vandalism are not addressed properly if at all. Punishments seem very light and there are many repeat offenders. Christianity is a pillar of the school, but very few teachers actively want to teach it even if they are Bible teachers. Some teachers use Christianity to complain about students or tour their own religious superiority. Overall, if you want academics, sports, and the arts, SCPS is great. If you want actual religious teaching as well, just learn on your own.
I have loved the opportunity to go to Savannah Christian Preparatory all four years of my high school career. The best parts were the community I built with my friends in all areas. The areas include academically through classes, sports, honor societies, and service clubs.
