BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — Brian “Head” Welch is set to appear at Magdalene Hope’s “evening of rock and conversation” fundraising event at Fox Theater on May 28 in an effort to help end sex trafficking in Kern.

Funds will directly benefit the organization’s Freedom Assistance League, which recovers and transports victims to safety and also to their transitional safe house.

You can also expect a silent auction to happen during the benefit show.

“We need to do more to help the victims who are forced into sex trafficking and help them to freedom, while being mindful of their needs and walking with them to help them heal from their trauma. Our desire is to see more people be made aware, volunteer, advocate, and partner with us in our mission to eradicate sex trafficking,” Dr. Doug Bennett, founder and president of Magdalene Hope, said.

Other acts on the bill include hard rock band, Spoken and Bakersfield native, Nate Parrish.
