Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Numerous sculptures hiding amongst the trees, alongside the water, along paths. I spent a couple of hours randomly walking along paths, discovering a wide range of sculptures created with diverse materials. Some were incredible.
Only drawback, to me, was lack of signage pointing back in the direction of the entry/cafe/exit. It took me a while to find a path back.
Cafe was clean, comfortable and good selection of food and drinks, a view over large pond.

Dame Elisabeth Murdoch (1909-2012) was given Cruden Farm as a dream wedding gift by her husband, the press baron Sir Keilh Murdoch. Dame Elisabeth loved the garden, the plants and trees, and the sculpture. Cruden Farm is open to the public; it's very popular for wedding photos. You can also take a picnic lunch (no rubber mats, please). Children under 16 are free. Cruden Farm is managed by a public trust; all income goes towards upkeep of the garden.

Have given this place four stars for what it is - a large bushland area not far from suburbia. There are a range of clearly marked - and indeed named - trails you can wend your way along, some obviously used by service vehicles and others are genuinely just tracks.

There are no facilities here beyond the carpark and the trail markers apart from some interpretive signage. The area was used as a military training area from around 1890 to World War 2 and there are a few scant reminders of this activity.

If you just feel the need for a bushland stroll and are in the area this is a good option.

This National Trust property tells the story of Sir Daryl and Lady Joan Lindsay. Daryl an artist born in Creswick to Dr Robert and Jane Lindsay and youngest brother to artists and writers, Percy, Lionel, Norman and Ruby [who was wife of Journalist/Illustrator Will Dyson] of the talented Lindsay family. Joan, the daughter of Judge Theyre [cousin to the Boyd family] and Ann Weigall [daughter of Sir Robert Hamilton, Governor of Tasmania] was an artist in her own right, having been trained by Bernard Hall & Frederick McCubbin, in the 1930's she began her literally career and produced such novels as "Picnic at Hanging Rock" and "Time without Clocks" plus numerous plays and short stories.
A wonderful insight to the lives of two of our most talented artists/writers, left just as it was on Joan's death in 1984, a time warp in perpetuity.

This place is something of a hidden gem which is a reserve made up of bushland with nice grassy areas and good size shady trees. Acting as an important corridor for wildlife, there a number of walking tracks that total a few kms on a round trip.
There is a small wetland area on Granite Drive that attracts some lovely birdlife.
If you are coming here, the best place to enter is via Lexton Drive. Also the Granite Drive entry has a playground.
    Bus stop is nearby.
WHeelchair friendly. Kid Friendly. Good carparking. Bring your own food and refreshments.

I like this reserve for lots of reasons. As someone who has a post graduate in environmental science, I enjoyed discovering the wildflowers and identifying many of the shrubs. The grassy areas are nice and some shady trees offer respite in warm weather.
There is a nice playground further along Monique Drive. But mostly this place is where you'd come to see birds, bees, insects and perhaps snap some nice photos.
Wheelchair friendly. Kid friendly. Good car parking. Bring your own food and refreshments.

Stumbled across this park to sit and have lunch. Found it to be a nice size and quite a few locals were dropping by with their kids to hang out. The playground isn't small and caters for kids of every age.
There are tables and benches as well as barbeques for everyone to use.
Wheelchair friendly. Kid friendly. Good parking. Bring your own food and refreshments.

This park has an excellent wooden structure playground comprising graduated levels with spiral slide, spiral climber, ladder, tunnel, chain ladder, wave slide, cubby, walkway and steps. Swing made from a tyre and two normal swings. Separate structure with monkey bars, monkey rungs, flying fox, chain traverse and balance beam. Horizontal bars and see-saw. Shaded tables and seat. Huge grassy area.
Wheelchair friendly. Kid friendly. Good parking. Bring your own food and refreshments.

Fairly new playground with a few tables under the shade of leafy trees - perfect for a picnic.
My kids loved the swings, two slides - one that is connected to a farmhouse structure with a telescope lookout, and one tall, free-standing slide. There’s also a climbing pyramid, see-saw, rocking horses, fireman pole and some little activity panels for the kids to twist and turn.

At the back fence is an entry to bushland that is part of the Pines Bushland Reserve

Peter was on time, friendly, helped pack the van, on the way home our plane was hours late, Peter adjusted everything at his end and met us at the airport when our plane landed, we highly recommend his service and take a lot of stress out of going to and from the airport. He can even provide a trailer to help bring extra bags home with you if you, like us, enjoyed the shopping whilst away.
