For most of my life, I have lived in the small town of Newton NC. Me and my family have always found this town very comfortable to live in. For the most part, this town has been no problem and has always been seen as a safe place for us to live in. Newton values every family and is always helping everyone gather together and become a community. I do not have anything negative about Newton. It has given me and others so many opportunities and is filled with many different people. There is always something new and interesting in the city of Newton and I would not change my experiences with it for nothing.
In newton my experience has been that a lot of people are very nosy, it isn't always in a rude way just looking out for each other but some people are straight up rude and will call the city on you for little stuff and take pictures of your yard. I have had a few sweet neighbors that bring baked goods and are very nice. this is definitely a small town where everyone knows each other. I would like to see more sidewalks since there is barely any.
I love its proximity to a bigger city (Hickory), and that despite this it has a community feel to it. There is everything you need right here, but its not so large that you ever have to travel far unless you want to branch out. I would not really change anything about Newton. I would love for the surrounding cities to keep adding amenities that we can travel to, without having to see Newton grow into a city with less charm.
