On August 16, 1977, the world was shocked by the news of the sudden and untimely death of Elvis Presley, the legendary King of Rock and Roll. Elvis passed away at the age of 42 at his home, Graceland, in Memphis, Tennessee. The cause of death was later determined to be a heart attack, although there were underlying health issues contributing to his deteriorating condition.

Elvis’s death marked the end of an era and left a profound impact on the music industry and popular culture. He had been an international sensation and cultural icon since the mid-1950s, influencing the rock and roll genre and leaving an indelible mark on generations of artists that followed.

AUGUST ??

On August 16, 1977, Elvis spent the day at home. In the early hours of the morning, he had a conversation with his girlfriend, Ginger Alden. Later in the day, he had dinner with his fiancée and his father, Vernon Presley. They watched television together, and around midnight, Elvis and Ginger went to his bedroom.

Elvis’s health had been deteriorating for several years due to a combination of factors, including prescription drug use, weight gain, and various medical conditions. Reports suggest that he had been experiencing sleep issues, fatigue, and respiratory problems.

In the weeks leading up to his death, Elvis’s physical appearance had noticeably changed. He had gained a significant amount of weight, and his energy levels were considerably lower than in his prime years. His performances were becoming less consistent, and he often seemed unwell on stage.

On August 14, 1977, Elvis spent the day at Graceland, his home in Memphis. He had plans to leave for a concert tour, but he was feeling unwell and canceled the tour due to exhaustion. He spent the day resting and hanging out with friends and family members.

On the morning of August 16, Elvis’s fiancée, Ginger Alden, discovered him unresponsive in the bathroom. Attempts to revive him were unsuccessful, and he was pronounced dead at the age of 42. The official cause of death was listed as a heart attack, likely stemming from his history of health issues and prescription drug use.

  5. Three Marines walked Elvis Hearst down the driveway at Graceland to the front gate. I have searched and searched for a picture of this and there are none. I have a friend who was one of those Marines and he does not know why either. Could it be the Marines pull all the pics of that escort from being shown to the public??

  7. I love the oldest and still do so very much. He was like part of my family we all loved him. I grew up with his music. I even had a band and did a tribute to Elvis. I’ll never forget the day he died part of me went with him I’ll never forget it burned into my memory. There’s no way enough words can be said about this very very special man he had it all. They’ll never be any like him. And I’m thankful to say I’ve seen him in concert. My hope is to see him someday and thank him and give him a big hug. God bless Elvis Presley. Here I sit here all these years later as I record this message and I have tears streaming down my face. Love never dies

  8. The evil manager and the doctor who prescribed the wrong medicine made Elvis sick. Take responsibility and save Elvis!! right now!!!

  9. Jet planes in the night sky with you
Getting high in the sunrise with you
Getting through all the bad times with you
    I wasn’t missing a thing, now I do
And I wish that I could build a time machine
    ‘Cause times moves on
    And now you’re gone
Oh, if only I could build a time machine
    I’d come and get you
    I can’t forget you
    I miss you
    I miss you
I miss you all the time
    I wish that
    I wish that
I wish that you were mine
    I miss you
    I miss you
I miss you all the time
    I wish that
    I wish that
I wish that you were mine
What the hell am I doing this for?
Laying here on my bedroom floor
Finding peace in the memories of you
    I wasn’t missing a thing now I do
And I wish that I could build a time machine
    ‘Cause times moves on
    And now you’re gone
Oh, if only I could build a time machine
    I’d come and get you
    I can’t forget you
    I miss you
    I miss you
I miss you all the time
    I wish that
    I wish that
I wish that you were mine
    I miss you
    I miss you
I miss you all the time
    I wish that
    I wish that
I wish that you were mine

♥It’s the lyrics of a song, but I wrote it because it’s the same as my feelings towards Elvis. Elvis forever! I love you ♥

  10. I love and miss him so much. He was my 8th cousin. I met him in person in 1976.
in a private meeting . I have a scarf, an autographed photo and yrs ago I had a cad
    that he bought me.
