Nicky Smigs was just building his career in improv when the pandemic hit. Upon completing his program at Chicago’s Second City Theater, all live shows were closed and Smigs moved back home to Arlington along with his siblings. Smigs never imagined that that’s when his career would skyrocket: he began posting his celebrity impressions on the viral app, TikTok, and now has nearly 120K followers on the platform, as well as over 1.6 million likes in total. A talented imitator, Smigs gets crowds rolling when he performs his stellar impressions of celebrities ranging from Thor, Nacho Libre, The Grinch, Jimmy Stewart, Tony Soprano, Ray Romano, Christopher Walken, Donald Trump, and countless others. In fact, his famous impression of Sebastian Maniscalco got the attention of the real Sebastian, who then proceeded, to like, comment, share, and follow Smigs and his content.  He received an A+ on his impression from Sebastian himself on Jimmy Kimmel Live. "My list of influences starts with Chaplin and ends when television went to color," says Starr. "I'm proud that, in a world of fads and flavors of the month, fans tell me I remind them a bit of Lou Costello or Jack Benny or Jackie Gleason. It's intentional."
