Honestly amazing. We stayed for one of the family Xmas sleepovers and it was perfect. Lady on reception lovely and friendly and made a fuss of my son. He was given a letter to Santa to write and there was a little post box to put it in. Lovely touch that he had a reply posted under the door ready for him when he woke the next morning. We had a drink in the bar and watched the entertainment. Drink service super slow but entertainment was good and drinks reasonably priced. Room was lovely - clean, warm and cozy as it was freezing out. Breakfast lovely in the morning too. Just missing fried eggs. Had characters wandering round speaking to the kids. Decorated beautifully for the kids. Ready to book for next year already!
I've reviewed the park seperately, and the hotel was a better experience overall. We stayed as part of the stay and play package which was good value due to the VIP ticket passes (early entry) and exit passes (to skip rides) which were included. For an overnight stay, you get 2 day tickets for the family as well so you can pace yourself. The hotel reception were mostly friendly except for one lady who seemed a bit fed up in the morning. Yawning in your face, and generally being quite cold is not the attitude you'd want when being greeted at a theme park hotel but I guess you can't expect Disney land at Drayton Manor. The room itself was good, relatively clean (still some soap scum and dirty silicone around taps and shower seals but what can you expect), and room service was good when we needed extra towels, soaps and glasses. The main bed was comfortable but the sofa bed was not so. The main negative was the price of the evening buffet was, like ther rest of the park, extremely expensive. The evening buffet was £16.50 per adult and £8.50 per child. For a family of 4, that would have been £50, and my two young children would have been unlikely to eat that much. Instead I got pizza delivered to the hotel from the local Domino's pizza. The included breakfast in the morning however was good with a range of different options available. Overall, would not stay unless visiting the theme park. Glad I didn't go for the more expensive "themed rooms," and glad that I opted to get food delivered to the hotel for a quarter of the price of the evening buffet. Staff could be friendlier but the room itself was clean and adequate for an overnight stay with 2 young children.…
I visited the park on the stay and play deal with the second day in the park free with two children aged 9 & 13 We arrived at the hotel just before the park opened and had a very stress-free check in. The staff were friendly and informative about our stay and how to use our tickets. We were told our room would be ready for when we returned from the park at the end of the day. On arrival at the park we got straight in without a queue and immediately noticed how clean it was. It was very quiet and we were able to get on most of the rides with minimal queuing. My youngest child uses a wheelchair when there is a lot of walking involved and everywhere was fully accessible for her. All the staff we came across were friendly and helpful. The park has a huge selection of rides and there is something for everyone. After a fun filled day we returned to the hotel to collect our room keys. The room was spotlessly clean, the 3 single beds were very comfortable and the room size was ample for what we needed and had all the essentials - kettle, hair dryer, iron and ironing board and even a mini fridge which was ideal to store our left over picnic food! I booked us a table at the hotel for our evening meal and after reading some reviews I had low expectations. However the food was of a high quality, good value for the quality and quantity. The kids meals were a great size and we all left very satisfied! After a great night sleep we went down for breakfast and were absolutely amazed at the vast selection of food on offer. Everything was self service all you can eat and again something for everyone. We had another fantastic day in the park after a stress free checkout and left at the end of the day with some amazing memories. We will most definitely be returning again!…
We booked a three night play and stay package, bed and breakfast with 3 days theme park entry. We were a party of four bringing our two grandsons (8 & 6) with us. We arrived late afternoon and the staff were helpful, adjusting our park tickets to give us three full days. The room was a reasonable size with two double beds, a full bath room, tea and coffee and a kettle. The storage space for clothes was limited, two drawers, a narrow wardrobe and a shelf, the other two shelves held the kettle and cups. After a good night's sleep we got up at 7am for breakfast, the only time available to us, to be told there was no not good due to a malfunction in the kitchen. It would be a half an hour before got food was available, so we could have the cold offering or come back later. How? They were fully booked later and were limiting clients in the restaurant. There was still no hot food when we left at 7:45. On returning to the room we discovered two things. Firstly there was a glass in the bathroom that was coated with toothpaste residue, hardened on, so much for enhanced hygiene. Secondly as we prepared to leave for the park we couldn't put anything in the room safe because it was locked in the open position. Could reception help with these two problems. We'll replace the glass today - 48 hours later it was still there. The safe couldn't be repaired as they had lost the overide key for it. You can use the reception safe they said, but if we wanted anything we had to queue to get it which wasn't acceptable. That night we had room service which I would recommend. Given the previous mornings problem with breakfast we ordered breakfast in the room the next day. What a mistake, it was cold. The beans straight out of the tin cold, the coffee needed warming with water from the room kettle, scrambled eggs inedible and the toast wasn't toasted. I mentioned it to the reception staff on the way out and they said they would look into it for me, if they did they didn't tell me what happened. We had left the door hanger requesting room service on the door and on returning 6 hours later nothing had been done. At this time out grandsons were worn out from two days in the park so we left early, foregoing a night in bed and breakfast. This hotel has the facilities, location and comfort to be a good option for visitors to the theme park, but the reception staff in particular were either inept or didn't care about their clients…
I came here with my son on the stay & play package which is good value for money. A night in the hotel with free breakfast with park tickets for the day and the day after. Rooms – 2 double beds, look comfy but too firm for my liking with really soft pillows. Bed squeaks when you sit on it. the room was tidy but there were stains on the bed sheets and hair in the bath. The duvet was thin and the room was cold without the AC on. Heated towel rack didn’t work. No cold water on taps so only piping hot water came out of the taps. Shower head holder was broke so had to hold the head whilst having a quick piping hot shower. Food – didn’t eat as it was too expensive for my liking. My son is also quite fussy and I don’t think he would have eaten it. They had chips and nuggets for the kids but my son is 14 and built like a grown man & eats like one too. I got a Deliveroo ordered to the hotel and went down to meet the driver. Easy enough and much cheaper. Breakfast – Booked for 10am. Beans were luke warm, scrambled eggs had been out a while and had started to go watery. Sausage wasn’t cooked enough for me, was too hard. There was plenty of choice though, different juices, toast with different spreads, fruits, pasteries, cereals and a mixture of hot drinks. Staff were really friendly though. Credit to the hotel. Would I come back? Probably not.…
I’ll admit I was weary from reading previous reviews but I have to say our trip was faultless! We stayed in a Viking themed room in the first week of the school summer holidays, a family of 3, we paid £252 for 1 night with play and stay. Check in was easy, no queuing. Had a blast in the theme park then had tea in the parklands restaurant in the hotel, I booked prime time 17:15, plenty of free tables, food was lovely and well priced (approx £14 per main and kids 3 course menu £10). Sundae puddings are delicious!! Joined in with the kids entertainer, Rachel who was brilliant! Bed was really comfy, room had everything we needed, clean and fun! Breakfast next morning was really good, really cute pancake machine! We pre booked but again, loads of free tables and walk ups. All staff were really friendly throughout, dealt with my husbands nut allergy very professionally. We really had a great time! And my daughter can’t wait to come back! ❤️…
We have just come back from a stay and play stay at the hotel. We had a thomas themed room which was quite spacious as we were in the curved part of the hotel. The downside to this is that you can hear the kids running around and screaming in the lobby at all hours (until 1am!). The only downside was the poor quality loo paper - the kids schools do better than this! Also the toilet looked at those it needed a bottle of bleach put down it. We were disappointed that we could only get at 830pm dinner reservation so had to travel off site to eat in Mere Green. We came back to enjoy the evening entertainment but decided against it as the bar area was so congested and there are only two windows....not the best environment! No characters arrived for breakfast which the kids were upset with...the hotel shop is not open during the day which is strange. The best part was how quiet the theme park was. We were given fast track tickets that we did not need to use and the early entry wristband for the second day was ideal however I feel that instead of 30mins early it should be 45 mins and not all of the rides were operational at 10am ( the older children rides). Would I stay here again? maybe if they made their restaurant and bar more inviting and light and also added more family friendly breakfast and dinner slots! The lunch however was amazing!…
We have arrived to a toilet that was extremely filthy with literally urine and faeces on the toilet rim, which seems that it hasn't been cleaned for ages. Rusty with collection of fungus - That we had to clean alone. Pictures ATTACHED The breakfast is extremely poor with very narrow selection and small quantities that could not accommodate the guests, causing a long queue of guests queuing for food. Orange juice that was sugar and water. We have booked stay and play and on the second day to collect our second tickets, were were called (almost literally ) liers and had to submit evidence by going back to our room and obtaining the papers and queuing again on the reception counter amid a non working lift in the Hotel in such a busy season. We couldn't trust the cleaning of the hotel and Hung a card that said if the room is not serviced claim your £5 per room from reception to be used in the in the bar. We had 2 rooms, but got nothing and the counter started to find a way not to pay. The WORST of this mater is the fact that a complaint has been emailed with Pictures on the 27th of July and no one from the hotel even bothered to apologize out of courtesy. Will never Stay here again !…
Where do I start? My son is at risk of anaphylaxis and has food allergies. The manager Helen and Paul and all the team went above and beyond, they have allergy cards, Helen was extremely reassuring and told us that they take allergies very seriously, she filled in the card and this gets given to kitchen staff. She allocated herself and 1 other to serve our meal. When we went down the nexr morning for our breakfast (which may I add we altered our reservation at very short notice) the card was waiting with the server again. There was plenty for our son to choose from, however none of the deserts were suitable for him. But this did not matter, as allergy parents we always carry extra snacks and desert with us.And we didn't ask for an alternative. The room was fantastic, very clean. lots of bath towels, complimentary toiletries incase you forget something. They have a play area for the children outside, mini golf and an amusement room. All the staff were extremely helpful and polite, nothing was too much trouble. Our son especially liked the DVD player in the bunk beds in the Thomas room. The receptionist let him go around the reception and pick his DVD for the night! Our son got a special meet and greet with Sir Topham hatt. They have evening entertainment for the children also, however we were all too tired from the park to stay up for that! We will definitely be returning!!!!…
We had an amazing time at Thomasland and the hotel. The hotel was themed brilliantly and Sarah on the desk so super helpful and lovely with my two young boys. We paid £40 to upgrade to a Viking room, which was great, had the bunk beds with dvd players, with dvds to hire from the desk. The boys were sent off on a hunt all around the hotel looking for clues to find an elf, and we’re given their own elves as prizes! They children go little stationery packs and Viking hats too in the room. The Thomas goody bags were great as always, especially loved the light up toothbrushes! The boys posted a letter to Father Christmas that night and we’re delighted to find a letter back from him when they woke up in the morning, such a wonderful touch! The food was really good and came out very quickly! Good service too. The evening entertainment was great, my 6 year old loved the magic and silliness! Our only note is that the mattresses were quite firm, which wasn’t to our usual taste so we didn’t sleep amazingly, but it’s not enough to stop us giving the stay a great review!…
