I stayed at the Majestic Elegance with my husband and 2 other couples in February 2020. We had a wonderful, relaxing vacation! We spent the days relaxing on the beach, enjoyed the swim up bar at the Elegance Club and lots of laughs with friends. I would highly recommend staying in the Elegance Club level rooms if you are traveling with only adults. It was well worth the upgrade! I loved the Elegance Club areas for snacks and desserts!
The staff at the Elegance Club bars treated us well, after a couple of days they remember you and your drink preference as well. A big shout out to Ismael, Cesar, Gleny, Garhza and Mary at the Elegance Club beach bar and swim up bar for making our vacation so special!
We are used to the entertainment on cruise ships, the entertainment at the resort is not at all at the level of the cruise lines. However, if you can't have fun at this resort that is on you. We had a great night at the little casino, it is small, but we enjoyed spending a few hours gambling. Some of the live music out on the patio outside the lobby bar was fun.
The Dominican night was the best dinner, if you are there for that - don't miss it. Overall, the food and drinks were great! I never felt like the resort was super crowded, there was never a wait for a table at any meal and you can make reservations for some of the specialty restaurants.
The public areas are so clean and well cared for - it is obvious they spend a lot of time and attention on upkeep of the resort. The room was very large, it was beautiful and cleaned daily. I also enjoyed the nice Elegance Club beach towels, another nice perk!
The spa was one of the best spa experiences I have ever had - well worth it!

We just returned from 7 night stay with five other couples and had the best time! This was our second trip to the Majestic Elegance and we already can't wait to go back. We stay in the club (adults only) section and it is WELL worth the small extra fee. The beaches were raked and free from seaweed and other debris, the pool was beautiful and the meals were great. Also, we made the trip each day to the club lounge on the Ella side for the delicious bakery treats and gummy worms. There's so much to love about the resort, but the very best part of the resort is the staff. ALL of them are so friendly and go out of their way to accommodate your requests. Some of our favorites are Maxima, Rosa and Angelina at the pool bar on the Elle side. We hung at this pool every morning til lunch and we were completely catered to. Maxima treated our entire group like we were close family and I already miss her warm smile! Caesar at the swim-up bar on the Elle side was so kind and we loved sitting at his bar in the afternoons. Our butler, Melvin was OUT of this world! He checked on us every day and made sure we had everything we needed. Everyone in our group had warm rose-petal baths drawn for them, h kept our rooms stocked with our favorite spirits, made reservations for us for dinner and the spa and even drove us from th beach to the resort enterance so we could leave and shop at the little souvenir village. The best part was that he was genuinely kind, funny and so helpful. He made us feel like we were his only guests and we appreciated him so much.

Our butler Victor is simply amazing and goes well above and beyond what is expected. This year our stay was just a few days past our 24th wedding anniversary and Victor had decorated our room for us with balloons and photos, had a bottle of champagne with some tasty treats waiting for us along with rose petals and bubbles in our jacuzzi tub. It was wonderful!
All of the staff at this resort are fantastic. Just so friendly and always smiling. We feel very protected and safe at this very secure resort. We were very pleased to be invited to meet the General Manager José Maria Gutierrez. José was seen frequently walking through the hotel or on the grounds speaking with the guests. Hi José!
This resort is very clean. Upon arrival our room did feel a bit damp and when this was brought to the attention of our butler Victor he quickly brought a dehumidifier to our room. The beach was always well groomed and there was never an issue finding a place to sit either by the pools or on the beach!
My husband has Celiac Disease but there was never an issue with him being able to find suitable and delicious food! They even had Gluten free desserts in the buffet!
We really enjoyed our stay and are looking forward to booking our 4th trip next year.

PROS: I will start with the positives. A lot of the workers, specifically bar staff, were great when they got to know you. We went back to several bars to visit specific workers who made the experience more fun. Food was pretty good at all restaurants. They did a good job of trying to keep the sea weed cleaned up. Pool party events were fun especially the foam party and pineapple drink party. Room was awesome and huge and definitely stayed clean and up to par. They even did something special for my Mom's birthday in her room when we asked. The tepanyaki restaurant was a great time. The staff goes above and beyond to make it fun for everyone there.
CONS: Probably the biggest complaint I have is how early the bars closed. Swim up bars closed before it was even dark. AND we had a swim out room we paid extra for and were even asked to get out of the pool at our swim up room at 6:00 every night because they had put chemicals in the pool..... this was really frustrating. We paid good money for the swim out room and wanted to utilize it whenever we wanted. Definitely killed our vibe. Secondly, the beach restaurant required full clothes and shoes and even if you put clothes over your suit and were wet they personally come and KICKED YOU OUT. Literally, made us put our plates down and leave..... at a beach side restaurant.... this didn't make much sense. Every resort I have visited that offered a beach side restaurant was casual dress so you could hop off the beach and grab lunch at your convenience. Seaweed was an issue our first day. It was disappointing to look out and just see giant clumps of sea weed all over the beach and in the water. However, they did a great job of trying their best to keep it cleaned up and in the mornings it always looked a lot better. This is sort of out of their control but I felt it should be noted. Many of the restaurants that required reservation also required men to wear pants. Not many men in our group packed pants for a trip to a hot climate area so we were unable to go to several places to try the food. Don't expect to have access to the sister resorts. Although you can walk there you are unable to get drinks or anything at their bars.

My husband and I spent a long weekend at the junior suite, and let me tell you! It was amazing service from front desk to beach is just A+. The great food had enough choices for bkfst, lunch and dinner. Including vegetarian options (hubby is vegetarian), bkfst is buffet style and they have 3-4 different specialty restaurants for dinner. The drinks were great as well! And we were able to get to know some of our bartenders (of course plan ahead to tip them in US dollars). As soon as we got there, the check in process was outstanding as they helped us to our room and showed us the facilities in the way. Our junior swim up suite was just excellent because it had entrance to the pool right in front of our patio bed and it came extremely convenient during our entire trip. The bartenders: Yadel & Irrael (at the beach bar), Miguel Angel & Roberto (at the lower floor lobby bar) were top notch mixologists as they created several exotic drinks when I could not decide what to drink and always in a kind manner as they juggled tons of other clients. In the Italian restaurant, Francisco (our server for 3 nights, yes we loved that restaurant that much) he was on top of every moment to the point that we did not have to call them for our needs. The Italian restaurant supervisor/manager Manuel showed his kindness and leadership toward his team every night I saw him in action. Resorts need this kind of leaders in order to succeed. Rosmary at the beach cafe was so kind and helpful as well. Once you are at the beach, you will also have opportunity to buy artesanal items! The pools are temperature controlled and it was delicious at any time of the day. The room was impeccable and our housekeeper Yulissa was super attentive as we saw her every morning when we left the room. The mini bar (beer, soda and water) was included and was replenished every morning. Overall amazing experience and of course we will be back! Totally recommend for a couple or family retreat.

Upon arrival we were greeted by bell hops to transfer our luggage to our room. We did have to wait 20-30 minutes to check in, but once we got to our room and got our luggage everything was perfect from there on out. We were almost immediately greeting by our butler who took us on a tour of the resort while our room was being finished up. We booked the ocean front room with an indoor and outdoor jacuzzi.. it was beautiful. The pool is very well kept as well as the beach, however there was a good bit of seaweed during our trip. Our room, as well as the whole resort, was cleaned daily. The food was excellent, our favorite was the Italian restaurant. At first, our drinks had little to no alcohol in them, but once the bartenders knew us, they became stronger and stronger. The fitness center was average, they provided bottled water and towels. The theater was huge and they had shows every night at 9:30, our favorite being the Michael Jackson show. You have room service a majority of the hours which is nice since you are not allowed to take any food out of the restaurants, even the buffets. You can text your butler whenever you need anything, and they immediately respond. We did have a mixup with the maids and they took our full bottle of champagne and threw it away. It was able to be replaced with a bottle of wine tho. There are multiple vendors who walk the beach to sell items, which are very overpriced, but once you say no thank you they move onto the next couple. There is a casino on the resort, however it is pretty small. One of our major complaints are the key cards. One day we had to get our cards reactivated 5-7 times, which is very inconvenient. The resort also had multiple excursions available upon request by your butler who can set this up for you in advance. This can include golf, scuba diving, a trip to an island, party bus, swimming with dolphins, and fishing. They also have an option for romantic dinner on the beach for honey mooners and other couples upon request, which was amazing. Overall was a beautiful resort and a very comfortable stay. We vacationed like a king and queen for a week on our honey moon.

The first room we stayed in smelled of mold, the air conditioner was regulated and they would change the temperature in the room, under any circumstances. We stayed one night in that room and next morning I upgraded to the elegance club, even though was eligible for free upgrade I paid the additional cost for the upgrade. With upgrade I received a butler he was the best part of my stay. He was attentive, and available. The Butlers have no control over the customers request. They need permission from a manager to accommodate the guest
My Butler Ricardo was excellent he understood customer service and attempted to meet my needs however, management stopped his every step. They need training from Ricardo in guest services.
The elegance club pool staff was excellent Judit, Felix, and Victor The get five stars in meeting the expectations of the guests.
There is no bottle service available you are allowed one bottle per your stay. The alcohol is bottom shelf no premium alcohol available. g The manager at the front was mean and was not accommodating at all. She was mean and unwilling to make any changes in making the guest happy.
The pool was closed on the pool side of the pool you had get out of the pool and go around to bar which was disappointing to say the lease.
The beach was full of sea weed and kept up.
The food was terrible , the first night we went to the steak house and asked for a side of mash potatoes, and received four additional bake potatoes, before getting and getting side for myself.
There dance club was not open our entire stay. The entertainment was not good, most nights went to bed early as the alcohol was bottom shelf and not worth drinking.
Many of the staff do not speak English and so when we attempt ask a worker a question, They were not able to speak with the American customers.
This hotels management needs a training in customer service.
I would not recommend this hotel for the fun and out going couple, or premium drinkers.
The customers should be allowed to manage their temperature in the room to meet individual needs not regulated.
I was sick most of my stay at this resort, burning up and they refused to adjust the room temperature . I could not wait to leave this resort. I would recommend this hotel if this is your time visiting Dominican Republic, it will leave a bad taste in your mouth.

Hotel was very nice, clean and nicely kept. Duplicate of the Majestic Colonial. Found the Majestic Club not so great . Our Butler was useless. Did everything ourselves. Went with my sister and we had a room with 2 queen beds. The rooms have absolutely no privacy what so ever. Bathroom and shower open right into the room. Was there for 7 days and after the 2nd day we both had very bad stomach issues and I had such bad intestinal pains and we were" not the only ones" in the resort. We were not able to take advantage of the all inclusive food and drinks for the rest of our vacation and went home sick and in pain. Nothing we took there helped after even seeing someone there for medication. We have no idea what we ate or drank to say what it was but it only took 2 days.
Outside of that, the resort is very nice, food is fairly good. Japanese was the best, steakhouse was terrible. The buffet's were always changing it up, always had fresh grilled fish and meats. I basically had to live on toast and grilled chicken.
The beach was beautiful. One of the best there. Soft sand no coral or rocks in the water and crystal clear water. Plenty of seats at the beach.
That being said the resort is nice, but after being to the Dominican 6 times prior to this and never had any issues at all or hearing about anyone else being sick, I feel there is still something going on there. I think this was the last time to my favorite vacation spot.....

My bf and I visited Majestic Elegance on January 29th the hotel itself is beautiful and very true to its name elegant. When we arrived we got to eat at the buffet before checking into our room which was very nice. Once we got to our room we noticed right away how beautiful and spacious the room was with blasting cold A/C and nice king size bed. We had a pool view balcony which was quite beautiful with all the palm trees and great atmosphere. Once we got settled in we started exploring the resort the beach was amazing with no seaweed and very warm water. The food from the resort is delicious every restaurant was great but our favorites were the steakhouse and the Japanese restaurant. Julio at the steakhouse provided such exceptional customer service he made our dinner very pleasant he went out of his to make us feel appreciated. Breakfast and lunch buffets had a great selection of food to eat you can’t be disappointed they have something for everyone. When the night life came around on our first night we ended up at the bar that we saw was the most fun and had the most life in it. That’s where we met Yanery and Santiago the great Duo. They made the night so much fun they were the night life they know how to make you feel so comfortable and treat you like family. Every night after that we would always be there with Yanery it’s a great feeling to be around someone that makes you feel so cherished and loved and provides an amazing service. She has a way of making you feel like you’re on vacation and forget about all the everyday routine and problems. I mean that’s why people take vacations. Right??? She also makes the best cocktails. I just wished the great duo Yanery and Santiago would work more together because they make such a great team watching them work together is awesome and when you combine both great personalities together you create a party. We got to experience the Super Bowl there by far the best super bowl I have ever experienced. They closed the steak house and instead had a buffet and the game at the theater which was very spacious for everyone. This resort is just beautiful all my friends asked me what resort was I in because it looked so beautiful. They also have a lot of activities you can participate in, The entertainment group is great at getting you to have fun. Regarding the night shows I heard they were great I was just always with Yanery singing and dancing and having some amazing drinks. If you are looking to have a great time and unforgettable vacation look no further and book the Majestic Elegance. All the staff was amazing I wanted to give a special thanks to Yanery,Santiago,Julio,Ruth, and Merkis for making our vacation a wonderful one. Absolute wonderful experience, we booked it through Costco travel, and it was seamless.
Victor was our butler for the week and he did just an incredible job. He was very attentive to everything that we needed. He seems to be 1 million places all at once. He went and filled up her Jacuzzi tub in the room and had a bottle of champagne , and flower petals floating on the top of the tub.
Rosa was our favorite bartender down at the pool. She was friendly and attentive and made delicious drinks.
Wellington, was the wine expert at the resort, He too seemed to be in every spot imaginable at any given point.
Doris who is in charge of entertainment is incredibly talented. She actively got all the guests excited, energized and got them moving.
It was a wonderful vacation and I highly recommend Majestic elegance, and all the staff mentioned above
