Pilot for Rock Hudson’s McMillan & Wife. I found this charming and Susan Saint James and Hudson surprisingly work very well together. I’m always unsure if I should log TV pilots on Letterboxd, but it’s on here so here I am.
Fun pilot movie to the McMillan & Wife TV series.
There is a reason for everybody to watch this movie as it has the single most AWESOME bicycle chase through the streets of San Francisco in cinema history -- it is the Bullitt of insane bicycle chases! The rest of the movie is good too but not up to that level of complete amazingness.
The M&W TV series didn’t run every week and had movie length episodes. It was one of a series of neat 1970s mystery movies and was in rotation with Columbo and McCloud. I also dig Banacek but I think that was on a different night. McM & Wife was the one most dedicated to comedy though Columbo and…
