With timed entry tickets to the house, we were pleased to visit out of season. Lots of artefacts are on display in the house and the studio is also well laid out with many paintings. Gardens are well maintained and the long walk up to the treehouse / bomb crater is worth it and the ample bluebells flowering in the woods are stunning. As usual, only really worth it if you are a NT member as parking is on top of admission.

An amazing 1 hour guided tour which I would highly recommend. My teenage boys absolutely loved it too, especially the passionate retelling of the battle of Quebec. They could even try on the fancy dress uniforms at the end which provided a great photo opportunity.

An entertaining hour or so, found the talk interesting and informative, Susie definitely knows her stuff, always look forward to the tasting, the charcuterie board that came with the wine was delicious. If you are still thirsty you can go next door to the Westerham Brewery fort some local Kentish ale, a fun afternoon.

There are different paths to follow - we followed the green trail which is circular and leads from one end of the car park round to the other side - at a slow pace it took us an hour. There are some lovely viewpoints. Some of the paths were extremely muddy and water logged so be careful with footwear choice. Our dog loved the walk - dog waste bin at the car park which was free.

From the top of the churchyard the views are delightful and the sound of its bells are beautiful. Inside I was fortunate enough to visit when a guide was available for a small donation to the church. My guide was so informative and knowledgable, I’d have never discovered so much without her. If you are thinking of visiting this church then i would recommend calling up to see if a guide would be available. Although this review says I visited in October of this year that wasn’t when I visited the church. I had my tour pre lick down and would check whether the church is open to the public outside of congregation times.

Can change buses here for Chartwell; one goes to Bromley; the other to Sevenoaks and Tonbridge. Very charming village

We had our wedding here in January 2024 and it was absolutely incredible. Lovely venue, both the ceremony room and the main area, with great support from the team.

Food was excellent and the team were very accommodating to all little tweaks and special bits we wanted.

Winter wedding worked very well with the indoor/outdoor balance. Definitely recommend using the recommended suppliers who have worked the venue before and know it inside out.

    Definitely recommend this place :)

We didn’t pay the huge entry fee for Chartwell but enjoyed a walk in the area to Westerham and back. There are plenty of public walks here.

Great fun at delta force, felt inclusive and made the experience as enjoyable and exhilarating as possible. Been to a few paintball centres and this was up there, handful of different arenas with a good combination of barriers/building/vehicles etc.
The only downside like most paintball centres is the price, £9.99 for 100 paintballs breaks the bank a little, but otherwise great fun.

At the opposite end of Westerham green from the Winston Churchill Statue is the imposing statue of General Wolfe, It is worth spending a few minutes here after having visited his nearby Quebec House.

On Toys Hill is one of WWI war memorials built on land owned by the National Trust. This one is dedicated to Capt N C Robertson and 2lt L G Robertson. Worth a quick look if you are passing.
