Seems Shipyard F&B could and should be a heck of a lot better. The place itself is fabulous as is the atmosphere and views. Location extra special. Why then is the menu and food preparation so dull, and average? Clayton was an excellent server. But...gosh the menu and food prep needs a revamp. The queso dip was a wee bit strange with mushrooms the bacon risotto was almost the most creative best thing on the menu. I eat Fish n Chips as an ambassador everywhere I go, but these were mediocre in presentation and flavour too. Salads are a decent portion size. The fish taco needs creative and preparation help. Like on my old school report card "could do much better" and we all wish you would.More

Outdoor terrace with some sun cover. A lot of seasonal new help but everyone was helpful and friendly. Probably come here 2 or 3 times a season. John was our very helpful and friendly server for drinks and an afternoon snack. We had the crab...cakes and some wine and stout. The cakes are good here, maybe a 7 out of 10. The beers are mostly Shipyard and nice to get a local beer for $6 these days. Good selection of wine by glass and bottles are also reasonably priced. Good place to spend an afternoon drinking with lovely views. Every year the landscaping seems to get better and better, thank you whoever is in charge. see you again very soonMore

One of the few places to eat still open on the island. Lunch was good, not great, but service was fine and we enjoyed our meal. The oysters were delicious. Looks like a nice inn, but we did not stay there.

Went here in search of good seafood and found a friendly staff, very helpful and the food was decent. The views from the outdoor seating area are beautiful. No rush to leave and the staff was okay with that.

We were excited to visit this restaurant on our day trip from Portland. The Inn is beautifully situated right on the Maine Street and its front gardens are wonderfully maintained. The front desk was kind enough to sit us outside and our drinks arrived promptly....Unfortunately, that was the extent of our highlights. When our waitress abruptly slid our appetizer plate across the table at us (without and utensils or napkins) my husband and I looked at each other and started laughing. Our $15 calamari dish consisted of 3, yes, 3 pieces of battered calamari, a couple of onion rings, and some wilted greens. After hunting down some utensils and picking thru the sad appetizer, we quickly paid our bill and headed over to The Island Lobster Company across the street for dinner. This is SUCH a missed opportunity for the Inn. You have the most prized location on the island and a wonderful outdoor facility during this COVID time. Your restaurant was half empty while across the street was booming. A little focus on your food and customer service and you could be such a success. I hope someone from the establishment actually reads these reviews and takes them to heart. Mainers want the best for each other and this seems like a very doable fix.More

When I ordered my dink they were out of almost everything it took forever for my food to come and when I took a bite of my cheeseburger it was expired and tasted like it had beef sitting in the sun for three days.

Great view, family friendly, good service but . . . My medium rare hamburger was way over cooked. The chowder was very light on seafood so you just tasted bacon. No one in our 5 person party really enjoyed their meal.

Take the boat and be taken to a really cool place that is farther away than it really is. Bar here is a top notch option and will be back next summer!

Took the ferry to Peaks one afternoon and took a nice walk around the island, Great spring day for a walk and really enjoyed the island. Decided to stop in at the Inn for a late lunch before catching the ferry back to Portland. Had...burgers and beer. Food was nothing special, beer was good, service was ok. Would not make a special trip but all in all it satisfied us.More

I do wish the Inn still served their Terri Tuni sandwich. But no, and their Napoleon blackened haddock dish sounded interesting. I should confess that I didn't know what the "Napoleon" in the name had to do with anything or what it meant. Anyway, I...asked the waitress if it was particularly rich, and she said no, but that it was wonderful. But when it came, this should have been the first time in my life that I said in a restaurant, "I can't eat this". It was so extremely rich, and an extreme violation of a diet I was on and should have followed. What would have happened had I rejected that dish, and asked for another -- at that late hour? We're neighbors of the Inn, live just one block away, and are well known on the Island. I still have what may be a too old fashioned sense of what's right and wrong. But the dish set in front of me should not have been served to any human, and I really should have sent it back -- for my own health, if not for their education.More

We came here for our Wedding Anniversary with our friends and we were seated quickly inside even though they were busy, service was a little slow, but they were under staffed and all servers were so nice and kept asking if we had been helped...etc. we shared the calamari, fish tacos and wings - all the food was great, especially the fish tacos. Drinks were delicious and priced right! I would love to come back and try something else on their menu.More

While waiting for our Peaks Island Tour, we thought we better grab lunch. The Inn on Peaks Island was right in our eye view and there were plenty of tables on the porch to eat outside on this beautiful day. Both our hostess and waiter...were pleasant. The lunch options were the typical sandwiches and salads. Overall, the food was average, what you expect for a restaurant on a summer destination island. The view from our table was great.More

We tried this restaurant because it had good reviews. I guess we went on a bad day. They seated us quickly but it took over 45 minutes to get our meal. I ordered an appetizer, soup, steak and rolls (the rolls were not free so...I ordered some). The waitress kept apologizing for the delay and after 45 minutes hinted that we would probably get everything at the same time. When I complained about the soup and appetizer suddenly appeared. Of course five minutes later out comes the steak. So I felt very rushed. The food was mediocre and the rolls didn’t show up until we were ready to pay the bill. Needless to say I won’t be going back thereMore
