About
Southdale Center is the nation’s first indoor regional shopping mall. Opened in 1956 and anchored by Macy’s and Life Time Edina, Southdale includes over 85 retail and restaurant selections ranging from women's and men’s apparel to gifts and jewelry, including J.Crew, PXG, Madewell, Eddie Bauer, Sephora, Forever 21, Lucky Brand and Apple, and also features a wide variety of dining options from sit down restaurants such as The Cheesecake Factory, Yumi Sushi, and Peoples Organic to grab and go choices such as Shake Shack. To top it all off, consider making plans for dinner and a movie at Southdale’s 16 screen AMC Megaplex. Conveniently located off of 66th and France Avenue, Southdale Center serves the nearby communities of Edina, Richfield, Bloomington, Eden Prairie, Minneapolis and St. Louis Park. From the entire team at Southdale Center, we hope you will visit us soon.

I love this mall! When i’m bored or want to go shopping, i always go to this mall. It’s never crowded so you won’t feel claustrophobic while enjoying your time there. i love going here with friends and family that visit. I have so many memories of shopping here with friends and eating their delicious food. I would definitely come here if you’re in the area!

I was impressed with the quality of stores here in Edina! The anchor stores of Macy's,JCP,and Herberger's are pretty good anchors. Quite a nice variety of stores and some relly good restaurants await.

When it comes to shopping centers they are doing a decent job. For more upscale and unique shopping head across the street to the Galleria - very nice and buzzing

We arrived at 7 pm, waited an hour to be seated, and another before we saw our food. Mine arrived cool, others were informed the kitchen was out of their choices. Steaks arrived charred beyond eating, so did one person's hambuger.

Our server did her best but manager was completely unresponsive to complaints. Cheesecake used to be a great place to eat. I'd like to know who stole one of my favorite places and left the restaurant we ate at tonight. Can you believe they charged one of us full price for 2 burned burgers. Yikes!

My 17 year old daughter and I shopped here for a little while on Saturday. There is a little bit of everything here, and although I love the Mall of America, this is the perfect size if you have just a few hours. Although we did not eat on this visit, there are lots of nice restaurants here including Buffalo Wild Wings and The Cheesecake Factory. There is also an AMC movie theater. My daughter's favorite shops are here- American Eagle, H&M, and Francesca's. She found some good deals! We will definitely come again!

Very nice, clean & modern looking Mall, we got Tux fittings for a wedding at Men's Warehouse & we ate at a Ruby Tuesday's there as well that day.

We discovered Southdale Center in Edina a couple of years ago. It turns out it is quite close to our Bloomington hotel where we stay when visiting. Turns out it's the oldest fully-enclosed climate-controlled mall in the U.S., opened in 1956.

We like to visit Mall of America for the spectacle but when we want to shop we'll head over to Southdale Center - there are some vacancies (as there are in MOA) but we enjoy the selection at the Macy's, JCP and Herberger's. It also has a decent movie theater and several restaurants, including a Cheescake Factory. It's also only minutes away from 50th and France, our favorite part of the Twin Cities for window shopping or patio dining.

What it does not have is the traffic headaches of Mall of America and the people congestion in the mall itself. It can take forever to get from one store to another.

O regularly visit southdale with its numerous stores and restaurants. Herbergers and Macy's are favorites plus the several good restaurants.

A few vacancies detract from southdale but it has been a favorite for years

Ridgedale was once the height of shopping in MN now the crown goes to MOA. Southdale has managed to keep itself relevent by keeping itself more of a highend shopping center. It has gone thru many changes over the years; I can remember coming here 20 plus years ago, but it still has the charm and the great variety of stores to shop up a huge tab.

Very clean...loved the shop "The Woods"-great employee, maybe owner (?) there! Not much variety in the shops, a lot of the same stores selling similar items.
