பேசாத பேச்செல்லாம்

An important work of feminist writing in Tamil. What makes the book more significant is that it trains it's introspective eyes not just on men but urges women to do self-introspection as well. Compassion and hope ooze out of every page even when seemingly hopeless predicaments are being written about.

Oh my God!!! I'm having an out of body experience after reading this book. Brilliantly written and savagely simple. Every chapter is so elegant and insightful. The author's observations on prosaic and trivial things(or so I thought!!) in society are fascinating.
Every little thing we have taken for granted from our moms, every true feminist we have failed to notice, every myth that infers women are weak , every movie that reinforces it, I can keep on adding. The author has done a very good job in writing about all those things. I would definitely recommend all my girlfriends especially from South to give it a read. Its wonderful.

Men are from Mars and Women are from Venus - A book that was suggested for reading to understand the behaviours of a typical man and a woman.. I have not read this book.
Pesatha pechallam is like that kind of book to understand what woman need, what are her physical, mental, financial expectations from the other gender, her love, her assertion and firmness, how she is depicted in cinema, so on and so forth..
Reading this in tamil makes me to fully appreciate the topics discussed and also able to relate to certain topics .
The best writings were sparking in all pages however the one on parenting about how we always differentiate between a girl and boy child rather than bringing them up as generally children, even from a small age.. We don't allow them to be kids even until the age of 10, thereby start throwing rules about how a boy and girl should be even without teaching them their biological changes..
Another topic is about a girl or woman owning a vehicle - how it has become like a wings to fly rather than just a simple tool and had reduced her dependency on another gender.
The author did not fear to discuss about certain topics like love, lust, physical changes, pregnancy, sex, feminism and abuse and molestation.
There were certain topics like match making, single women or parent, friendship between a man and a woman, being a mother, why she had to work and secure financial independence and difficulty in friendship between women after certain period - these ones throw light on precise emotions and expectations on and about woman and sometimes woman are also equally to be blamed in not getting their rights..
Worthy read and at end it just not wash away throwing all the blame on just men but pinpointed on why men behave like that and it is important we start the conversations everywhere to bring about equilibrium among the genders rather than fighting for who is bigger.. Whatever said and done, we cannot function without eachother and human beings are to be living in society and in complete harmony..

முடங்கி கிடக்கும் பெண்களுக்கு ஒரு தேடலை கொடுக்கலாம், அந்த தேடல் தன்னை நேசிப்பதில் தொடங்க வேண்டும். வாகன ஓட்டுதலில், திரையரங்கம் செல்வது, தேநீர் கடைக்கு செல்வது, தூய நட்பை பகிர்வதில், காதல் செய்வதில், ஆளுமை என எது வேண்டுமாகவும் இருக்கலாம்.
வாசிப்பை முழுமை தரும் புத்தகம் என்பதை விட 'தன்னை நேசித்தலில்' தொடங்கி ஒரு தேடல் தொடங்கும், அந்த தேடல் உங்களை புதுப்பிக்கும் என்பது நிச்சயம்.
