Hi All,

I have a ATEM 4 M/E Broadcast Studio 4K.

I have Ursa Mini Pro's (G2) connected both ways to the ATEM for camera control.

Input is: Camera > Hyperdeck Studio 12G > Talkback Converter 4K > VideoHub > ATEM.

Output is: ATEM PGM > Talkback Converter 4K > Camera

Problem:

I can't change the time code generator run mode in the ATEM Software (8.5.3) from "Free Run" to "Time of Day". Running ATEM software on Macbook Pro (Big Sur).

If I set it to "Time of Day" it's still running the "Free Run" time code generated.

Also, when I bring the video files (copied from SSD's to hard drive) into Davinci Resolve, the files have the free run timecode generated from the ATEM, however I have to set the file dates so they are all the same before I can use them in the Sync Bin.

Any thoughts?

Same! Did you figure it out? Feels like a forgotten would-be feature by Black Magic. Or it's for the Constellation model only? Or you're required to have a computer connected via USB (which seems old school, given that everything I have is connected via CAT5/6)? The manual isn't clear (screenshot).

Mac-specific issue, but I'm not sure why. I noticed I can't set it on a Mac, but I set it just fine on PC.

Does not work on Windows either..

While you would feel that it would be that simple and is just a software issue. As it just should send the current time of the PC clock to atem.. My Constellation 8K works fine with Time of Day.. my 4ME broadcast does not do anything to time of day.. While setting a time manually is no problem..

Having the same issue here with my 4ME 4K, version 8.8, time of day setting does nothing. Since someone mentioned it above, I tried connecting through USB but that did not help. I've tried setting time of day through both PC and Mac. The only thing I haven't tried is connecting my ATEM to the internet instead of an internal network in case the ATEM is trying to pull the time from online instead of the computer I'm using to control it.

It just doesnt work.. It works on the 8K.. And probably on the Atem minis.. But not on the older switchers.. While i think if you can manually punch a timecode.. Why not if Select time of day it takes computer time and pushes that at that moment to the Atem as if the user punched a Manual timecode..

It is SOOOOO weird that it doesnt work... And feels honestly as a big Software BUG... :roll:

Mine finally synced with Time of Day.

I had my Windows 11 computer plugged into it with ATEM Control active and on the OUTPUTS tab to verify timecode.

I recycled the power on the ATEM Constellation 8K and when the software reconnected it had the correct timecode.

The constellation is on Version 8.6.2 and Software Control is on 9.3.1
