Witness the blood-soaked roots of a legend in Hellsing, the action-horror series that launched the careers of some of anime’s brightest stars. The vampire Arucard and his servant Seras Victoria protect the British Empire from ghouls and satanic freaks. Together, they haunt the shadows as a sinister force of good—and tonight the streets of England shall flow with the blood of their evil prey.
A fantastic show that lived up to its own standards.
I feel like if you are an anime fan at all at some point you've come across this show. Hellsing, in its time, was a show that surpassed almost all its competition in just about every way. In animation, depth of characters, art style, sound, and story you just didn't find much of anything that could compare. So much so that even by todays standards much of what it did still holds up extremely well.
I think the thing that Hellsing really exceeds on for me is the characters. They feel like they have a certain weight to them. They feel like they aren't good or evil. There are certain tropes some of them fall into but they aren't defined by them. They sort of feed off of that gothic Transylvanian source and start to define their own path from it. Once they build that weight on their own they become beholden to it. Crazed by it.
Each and every episode is packed with tension. Each and every expression detailed to show thought that isn't binary. And it is done in a way that is styled to be cooler then just about any show in recent years.

Dracula Spelled Backwards
I watched this for the first time fan-subtitled in early 2004, and it turned rapidly into one of my all time favorites. To this day, to my mind, there's no vampire fiction quite as good as the original Hellsing series.
Many of the characters are enigmatic and complex, with multiple layers of loyalty and motivations driving them. The action is brutal, the mysteries are interesting, and the ending is a shocking, if somewhat over foreshadowed twist. It even outshines the later "Hellsing Ultimate" with a more subtle plot buildup and more relatable characters.
If you're a fan of violent action/horror like Berserk and Fist of the North Star, you're probably already a fan of Hellsing. If you aren't, hurry up and click play already!!

One of the best anime
Hellsing is a classic anime that doesn't compare to any other. It's such a unique and awesome series. The artwork and animation are really well done, it maintains a macabre sense throughout the show. The story line is thrilling and will keep you engaged and guessing. There are some really cool twists in the story, it has it all, mystery, horror, drama and the No Life King!

incredible horror anime
part of what i would say is the horror anime lover starter pack. is the first adaption of Helsing while i will say this that the ova are superior it only because they didn't need to edit stuff because they were ova and this was for broadcast so if you have a chance check out the ova but if that not available then check this out it the long censored version of some of what you will see here. everything about this is perfect the character the art design the beauty in the violence. it is not for children but a great binge worthy anime watch it
