The best thing about Clairemont High School is that we are a linked learning school with academy's. I feel like this was very helpful to get me ready with collage. We only have four classes a day/semester. So it is set up like the collage system. I am in the business academy and I feel like that guided me on wanting to pursue a carrier in business. The worst part about Clairemont High is most of the campus buildings are very old and outdated. I would like to see some improvement's in that area, but other that they do a good job of trying to make the classrooms feel updated with new furniture and cosmetic things. Over all I had a great high school experience and think Clairemont has done a great job at getting me ready for collage.
The best part of my school, University City High School, is what it offers through academics. The school has an assortment of different multiple-year-long pathways, from Engineering to the Biomedical sciences to Multi-Media Art or Psychology. The worst part of my experience came from a staff member who got arrested. It was shocking and left the campus feeling unsafe.
Being a student in the San Diego Unified School District has had its ups and downs. Since Kindergarten I've been a part of this district and I've had some of the best experiences. Meeting new people, and learning about different cultures and experiences of other people, the diversity is amazing no matter where you go. The only thing I would say is a down about the school district is the curriculum we learn. We learn about the same stuff from 6th up to 12th grade just different difficulty levels. I truly think there needs to be more added to the curriculum of our schools due to the fact there are so many different things we could learn about that can inspire different futures for generations to come.
