We were in town visiting friends and selected this hotel because of the convenient location. This hotel is in a great area of Louisville. The hotel is in the heart of all the restaurants and shopping in St. Matthews, many locations are within easy walking distance. There is a Whole Foods next door and two major shopping areas you can easily access either by walking or a short car ride. Hotel is clean and rooms are comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good and standard HGI breakfast. I am a Hilton Honors Diamond Member and would stay here again when in Louisville.

I picked this hotel for two reasons: 1) my wonderful pre-COVID-19 pandemic experience at this hotel in summer 2019, and 2) the advertised COVID-19 safety measures communicated on the hotel's website. While overall the hotel appeared to exhibit the level of cleanliness I experience previously, it was negated by the housekeeping staff not wearing face masks while cleaning rooms. This was witnessed multiple times. I ultimately spoke with the hotel manager who promised to address it. The hotel stays busy with a lot of persons who you cannot tell whether they are guests or just visiting the restaurant. I recommend the hotel add key card access to the elevator for guest room floors. The laundry and exercise rooms which are on the first floor within feet of the front desk require key card access, but access to guest room floors is unrestricted. Also adding a safe to the rooms for sake keeping of valuables would be an added value.

I got into Louisville late Tuesday night and checked in. The front desk staff was great and I scored a status upgrade. Didn’t even have to ask - they said “we’ve been expecting you. Thanks for being a loyal Gold Member, we’ve upgraded you.” The bed was comfy, the room was very clean and the tv’s have sleep timers (if that’s important to you). After a quick work out the next morning I went for breakfast and when checking in at the podium I met the highlight of the entire stay: “Joyce.” Joyce welcomed me, thanked me for my business and went over the entire menu, starting with biscuits and gravy (must be her fave). Joyce went on to explain how the two chefs would be happy to make me anything I wanted. While showing me to my table Joyce continued the conversation, asking me where I was from, etc. As I sat, eating my breakfast I watched Joyce work the room, greeting other tables that had skipped checking in at her podium to check them off of her status list so they wouldn’t be charged for their breakfast. She was friendly and kind to everyone and I could see everyone lighten up and smile after she stopped by their table. In a time when everyone traveling is kinda on edge with the coronavirus hysteria created by the 24 hour news networks, Joyce is a refreshing breath of fresh air that “everything is OK and will be OK.” While getting ready for my day I couldn’t help but think how thankful I was to have briefly met Joyce since I felt like I had just eaten breakfast with my Grandmother. It helped me have a fantastic day of productive meetings around the Louisville area before flying home. The hotel is fantastic and Joyce is the crown jewel.

We were genuinely impressed from the time we checked in at the Front Desk with Heather to the time we departed. Heather so graciously helped us secure a pack & play prior to our arrival and it was already in our room upon arrival. The room as spotless, with ample towels and an impressive closet that made it easy for our family of 4 to organize our items. We used the pool facilities and were the only ones there every time. It was great that extra pool towels were available at the pool. As a nice surprise, we received complimentary breakfast - it was a wonderful spread, with hot items available (bacon, eggs, perfectly crispy potatoes), as well as fruit, cereal, bread items and coffee. Kelli, who was replenishing items at the buffet and sanitizing tables, was just lovely, as were the staff serving the hot food. Highly recommend this gem of a hotel.

Overall I was pleased with my stay. My room was clean. The restuarant in the lobby was convient but the menu was limited and it was over priced. I was disappointed when I called the front desk and spoke to Russell? and needed more towels. He assured me he would have them brought right up but they never came. I was able to get them from the cleaning woman on the floor.

The staff and facility continue to be at the top of the scale on customer service. We have stayed at this location since it opened and will continue to return.

The restaurant produces quality meals and the service staff is very helpful with questions. We were the hostess recognized us as life diamonds.

I've stayed here for business several times. It has a great location close to the interstate and Watterson with good restaurant selection very close by. The staff is always friendly and they have a good breakfast.

I told the manager last year that I had stayed at this location probably 25+ times. But a management change last year has shown employees from the front desk to the restaurant wear whatever they wish. I ordered the exact thing for dinner both nights. The first night it was perfectly seasoned. The second night my salmon was sitting in a pool of butter and that was all I could taste. An older couple who waited forever for their food got it next to my table, took one bite and told the waitress it was terrible and left. They stop offering complimentary coffee at 10 am. Most HGI properties in TN and KY keep it out during the day.

This Hilton Garden Inn is a new addition to the Hilton properties in the Louisville area. Modern decor, welcoming lobby. The rooms are of good size, simplistic decor and furniture but without being cheap. Great breakfast and outstanding service by the breakfast staff. A smile and friendly attitude goes a long way. Very nice bar in the evening with a good selection of Kentucky bourbon. Nice touch with the messages after checking in but a poor substitute the poor welcoming person to person while checking in - not even a hi or hello. I would suggest for management to have the front desk people observe how the breakfast staff works and interacts with customers.

Reslimpan - I'm happy to know you enjoyed your stay for the most part, however, I am disappointed to hear your initial interaction at the front desk was lackluster. Although you found the hotel to be welcoming with a great breakfast and team, you should have experienced that same friendly attitude throughout. I apologize for this occurrence and hope you choose to stay with us again so we can recover your feelings. I'm confident the issue of a poor welcoming has been corrected as we strive for complete hospitality to each and every guest.

This hotel is located in an excellent location, walking distance from the mall and cheesecake factory. The rooms are clean, the beds and pillows are perfect and the hotel has a restaurant, pool and gym. Parking area is large. The staff are very friendly and very helpful. I give this hotel an A++ for location and cleanliness of property and the ease with which you can find anything you need at close proximity. I hope they do well because it truly was a home away from home!
