1st Baronet Sheffield Sir Charles Herbert Sheffield, 1st Bt. was born illegitimately in 1704.1 He was the son of John Sheffield, 1st Duke of the County of Buckingham and of Normanby and Frances Stewart.1 He married Margaret Diana Sabine, daughter of General Joseph Sabine, on 25 April 1741.2 He died on 5 September 1774, with two other daughters (died unm):.2 He was given the name of Charles Herbert at birth.3 He lived Normanby.2 He was inherited a large portion of the Sheffield lands, including the Normanby estate, Lincolnshire.2 On 28 March 1721 which proved ).2 He was created 1st Baronet Sheffield in 1755. On 1 March 1755 so created.2
