The upcoming fourth season of The Umbrella Academy will be bringing an end to the Netflix series. Though Season 4 will be shorter than previous seasons, consisting of just six episodes, one star of the series is promising this will be enough to give the fans some closure with the story.

Per Collider, the fourth season was recently addressed by series star Justin H. Min, who plays Ben Hargreeves in the series. He commented on how the season was wrapped a year ago, and he remembers how emotional it was film work on the show's final episodes. There has since been a bit of a wait for the new season to arrive, and it's coming in August to Netflix. Months ahead of the final season's debut, Min reaffirmed how the writers knew Season 4 would be the end, and the episodes were written with this in mind.

"We filmed the final season last year, the first half of last year," he said. "It was incredibly emotional, but we were just so thankful to have the opportunity to sort of close out the story. So many shows, unfortunately, get prematurely canceled, but we knew going in this was gonna be our final season, so our writers and our showrunner had the opportunity to wrap up all the storylines. It was just such an incredible opportunity for us to say goodbye to our characters, but also to our amazing crew in Toronto, our amazing directors, and everyone that we've known throughout the four seasons."

He added, "In terms of what to expect, I'll probably be killed if I say something. But I think I can tease. There are a lot of questions that have been brewing throughout the seasons of the show, and I do think they really do get answered in this final season. I think there's a real sense of closure, so I'm excited for the fans who've been waiting for certain answers to get those."

The Umbrella Academy Ends Its Run

The series was created by Steve Blackman, taking inspiration from the comic book series by Gerard Way and Gabriel Ba. The show stars Min, Elliot Page, Tom Hopper, David Castañeda, Emmy Raver-Lampman, Robert Sheehan, Aidan Gallagher, Adam Godley, Colm Feore, Ritu Arya, Mary J. Blige, Cameron Britton, Yusuf Gatewood, and Kate Walsh.

The Umbrella Academy is streaming on Netflix, and the final season is set to premiere on Aug. 8, 2024.
