Obituary

Bud Kaye, just shy of his 92nd birthday, left this life to be with our Lord Jesus Christ on July 1st, 2023.

Harold was born on July 25th 1931, in Fond Du Lac, WI, to parents Harold Martin Kaye and Gladys Elizabeth Danz-Kaye. During his high school years, he participated in many sports including track and football. Upon graduation he began his college education for a year, only to enlist in the Marine Corps during the Korean War. At this time, he met and married a fellow Marine, Nancy Kathryn Strunk, in Sun Valley, CA. Together, they had five children and though they ultimately divorced, Bud and Nancy remained dedicated to providing the best for their children throughout life. After receiving his Honorable Discharge, he finished his education with the University of Wisconsin, majoring in Business with a specialty in Marketing. Upon graduation he was offered many job opportunities before accepting a lifelong career with Evinrude Motors.

His passions in life included his continued patriotism for his country, the Marines, his great love for family, and the joy he experienced working with his many customers and colleagues with OMC/Evinrude. He retired as a top District Sales Manager.

He is survived by Nancy Kathryn McKaig, his former wife, and their five children Mary and Karl Keip, Kathy Kaye, Ann and Gil Johnson, Harold “Chip” Kaye, and Thomas Kaye. His sister Donna Crain. Grandchildren Coral and Mike Richline, Sarah Keip, Rachael Keip, Salvatore Fichera, Franci Fichera, Kelly Jo Kaye, and Justin Patterson. Great grandchildren Alexandra Richline and River Richline. Nephews and Nieces Peter and Jeanne Crain, Jenny Crain, and Scott Crain.
