      What to Know

      Critics Consensus

It may not be as laugh-out-loud funny as Nick Frost and Simon Pegg's previous collaborations, but Truth Seekers is genuinely eerie, balancing out its silly sensibilities with creeping terror and a scary talented cast.

Robert Levin Newsday The first few episodes of "Truth Seekers" are somewhat disappointing, but the acting is strong and there's potential for improvement. Rated: 2.5/4 Nov 4, 2020 Full Review Suzi Feay Financial Times Truth Seekers has all the charm of a self-deprecating British spin on Stranger Things. Rated: 4/5 Nov 3, 2020 Full Review Ed Cumming Independent (UK) I found myself slowly charmed, mainly because Frost is so easy to watch, and the characters grow into their roles. Rated: 3/5 Oct 30, 2020 Full Review Pradeep Menon Firstpost Truth Seekers may not be rip-roaringly funny, but it does have a constant undercurrent of old-fashioned droll British humour retrofitted with some new-age sass. Oct 17, 2023 Full Review Daniel Seddon NME (New Musical Express) An underwhelming if warm eight-part series that posits the scariest theory of all: Frost and Pegg's powers are starting to wane. Rated: 3/5 Jul 8, 2021 Full Review Kshitij Rawat The Indian Express The writing is pretty good, and the story is suitably complex without being too taxing on the mind. The twists and payoffs are quite rewarding and unexpected. And the episodes are briskly paced too. Rated: 4/5 Mar 9, 2021 Full Review Read all reviews

Gareth v A show that has plenty of potential but in the end it lacks the wit and sharpness of most Frost/Pegg collaborations. In the end it comes across as a bit of poor man's Ghostbusters. A shame really Rated 3 out of 5 stars 06/24/23 Full Review Samual J Really enjoyed this show. Wasn't the usual Frost and Pegg which I think made it even better. It brought something different to their usual stuff. I've watched it several times now and don't get bored of it. Really is a crime that Amazon didn't renew it. But I don't think they promoted it as well as they could've either. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/05/23 Full Review Richard S Enjoyed this, a well acted fun show that I think would have had more to offer in a second season. The characters were all likeable and it was good in all the ways it needed to be for the style. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 11/10/22 Full Review torin f Though certainly enjoyable and well-structured, TRUTH SEEKERS favors creepy-campy paranormal conspiracy over humor, and may be a little disappointing for fans of Nick Frost and Simon Pegg's previous (glorious) collaborations. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Audience Member I really enjoyed this series. Offbeat, funny, kind of scary. Disappointed that there will be only the one season. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review ripper j It's ok, but not great. At first it was fine to have running in the background while I played games, but eventually I got bored and turned it off.
