Windows 10 pro product key gone after factory reset

Hi, I bought a laptop with Windows 10 Home installed, later I upgraded it to Windows 10 Pro, I bought a digital key from a certified reseller - everything worked fine. Recently I wanted to give this laptop to someone else, so I made a factory reset, using an external pendrive with fresh Windows 10 Pro.

After the installation, Windows is not detecting the Pro key, it only detects this old Windows Home key I got together with laptop.

If I use a troubleshooting tool, it says I should change to Windows Home (and I don't want that, of course).

If I try to re-enter the Windows Pro key, get an error saying it's not valid.

What should I do to restore the Windows Pro license?

Good Day Jeremiasz,

My name is Carlo, I am also using Windows 10 pc and community member like you. Let us work together to sort this out.

Can you please check the status of the keys that you purchase, go to this link and download the tool called ShowKeyPlus

https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/p/showkeyplus/9...

Once downloaded and installed, open the app.

-Click Check Edition and enter the 25 digits code that you purchase.

-Take a screenshot of the results and post it here.

Don't include your license key in the screenshot just the results , for your own privacy.

Can you please post here the last 5 digits of the license key that you purchase for me to check if its a generic license key.

I'll look forward for your response so that I can provide an accurate recommendation.

Have a wonderful day ahead and stay safe.

Sincerely,
Carlo T.

Good Day Jeremiasz,

It appears to be a valid license, now plese proceed with these steps.

-Press Windows key + R
-Type winver and hit Enter

It will show you the Windows and Build version and post it here.

-Click Start, type CMD and run as administrator
-Copy and paste the command below and hit Enter

slmgr /dlv

Once you enter that command , the Windows Script Host will appear , take a screenshot and post it here.

Have a wonderful day ahead and stay safe.

Sincerely,
Carlo T.

I tried that before, that's what I get:

The yellow text says: You can't activate Windows system on this device because you don't have a valid digital license or product key. If you believe that you have a valid license or key, choose option Troubleshooting below.

If I use a troubleshooting tool, I get an information that I should change the version of system to Windows Home because it only detects the Home license, and not Pro.
