The New York Police Department confirmed to NewsNation that officers responded to a 911 call of an assault in progress around 7:45 p.m. “in the vicinity of 90th Street and East Drive.”

A 55-year-old man, police said, was walking when he was hit in the head by an unknown object, “causing an abrasion.”

Local media outlets, including WNBC-TV, identified the man as Stuhlbarg, whose film credits also include “Call Me By Your Name” and “The Shape of Water.”

WABC-TV reports Stuhlbarg was hit in the head by a rock and chased the assailant to the front of Russian Consulate on East 91st Street, where the suspect was arrested.

WNBC reports that Stuhlbarg is now “recovering.” He refused medical attention at the scene, according to the NYPD.
