Being one of the first institutions dedicated to research, international relations and development, the GHC provides a better understanding of the shifting power balance in global health. Since 2008, the Centre has contributed to the capacity building of decision-makers, government representatives, international organisations and other stakeholders. Through its research, education and convening activities, the GHC broadens the understanding of global health issues, and contributes to setting agendas. Over the years, the Centre has built partnerships with a wide-range of institutions and has acted as a neutral platform for policy dialogues and conferences. The mission of the Centre is to open global health to diverse voices, knowledge and ideas, and engage critically with issues of governance, politics and power.
