PSVR as a prop, lol. They aren't even using headphones.
You don't need headphones in the future.
I just saw this as it aired! You have to admit the PS VR does look pretty sleek and futuristic. I wonder if they just borrowed it from a cast or crew member as a prop for the day?
Still broke the suspension of disbelief for me atleast, because it's something from our time and although it does look futuristic, it looks out of place because it's so easily recognizable. They must be low on budget for a proper prop.
so easily recognizable
not for me, no idea it was ps vr, it did look like a vr headset but i had no idea it was actually ps
They are using a fairly standard 9mm design for a gun as well.
You need to work out your suspension of disbelief muscle a little more.
yes, even some black electrical tape could have masked the appearance.
They also use a pc joystick for flight controls so I'm not all that surprised.
Damn how did I miss that. Funny.
I noticed that. Maybe it was some sort of retro nostalgia like putting bluetooth speakers in a old-timey radio. ha ha
I wonder who got to take the PSVR home after filming. ;-)
What was that final scene with android? Weird.
Sara found a way to reach out and take over Android while she's recharging. And apparently Sara and Three weren't quite as lovey dubby as he thinks they were.
Close, but I believe that Sarah wishes for Three to be in that simulation with her; kill his physical form, and have his brain scan uploaded into the computer.
This is just my take on it.
Three just had a conversation with Sarah about how he must have done something bad that Four would not tell him. Then Sarah took over the android and pointed a gun at him. I have to feel that the two events are related.
bingo
Furthermore, she rolled over with a pained expression. She's well aware of the "bad stuff" he's done.
However, android also went into Six's and Five's room. Selective editing...maybe she pointed a gun at them as well.
Quite possibly. I've fully expected her to go off the deep end to try to keep him inside the simulation. And I'm still waiting for someone to bring up the idea of getting her an android body.
I think that is a very possible route as far as plot development goes. The problem is that I like Sarah, at least I like the relationship that she has with Three. At her introduction Sarah seemed to bring a sense of humanity back to Three, she helped to see him as a caring individual. There is certainly more to "this" Sarah than the Sarah that we knew prior to neural upload.
That, or Sarah's avatar is not entirely Sarah herself. With her living inside ship's memory databases I'd expect her to learn how to exploit ship's systems down the season.
Very good point. Five harbored no ill intent when she uploaded Sarah's consciousness into the Raza, but it would appear that Sarah has other plans. Adding to what you suggested, Sarah mentions how she is able to manipulate the environment around her, fabricating or dissolving whatever it is that she wishes. That kind of ability is powerful, and maybe we are beginning to see that.
It's what I thought about too but damn that would be selfish as hell. Instead they could make a three virtual clone to hang with her or upload her mind to an Android body. Her wanting to kill three makes little sense.
Yeah, that's what I think too. Something similar happened in Stargate Universe.
That's great and I should've seen that!

wow... hopefully this will convince them not to cancel it.
God please release this show's soundtrack already; that ending theme was so awesome.
YESSS!

i've heard it before on scandal
Same! it played during the S02 episode when Nyx's brother committed suicide. Such a sad and soothing melody.
What was that look? Simulation Sara is hiding something.
She might be tied to Ryo? I just can't imagine in what way. Ex-Girlfriend? Long lost sister? Favourite auntie?
Sara is a difficult character to figure out. She's clearly not happy being stuck in a spaceship computer, but she hasn't voiced any desire to try and escape. It makes me think she might try to draw Three in at some point, permanently. She said it herself to Two, companionship is the thing she misses most.
At some point they're going to have to try and find a way to get her out of there, or it will get awkward.
It will get awkward? Like it isn't awkward already? lol
But you're right, her intentions aren't super clear. It will be interesting to see how this plays out.

Then what's the point of even joining?
Two and Three having a little moment.
Two casually mentions Three's dead cyber girlfriend.
Savage.
I loved 2's facial reaction when 3 told her it took her long enough. It was subtle, but still weirdly sexy.
I'm digging the first person shots, really adds to odd feeling of the hallucination world
Annnnd it's Inception time.
Should have gone deeper
Edit: Awwwsheeeet just as we thought we're that deep in
He apparently did.
Wait doesn't that guy know of the colony leader meeting coordinate now since he knows in the dream? Or was he just sending HIS coordinate to his boss?
He gave the coordinates of their ship to their boss.
Anyone else think of rick and morty's M. Night Shaym-Aliens episode? As soon as he was out of the simulation I immediately thought he was in another simulation.
I see some people saying that it was Sara as the android, but wasn't she going to all of the crews rooms? What if the Raza is what/who lead to the death of Sara?
She was going through all the rooms because she didn't know which one was Three's; or thats' how I took it.
Are you implying that the Raza itself killed Sara? The Raza doesn't have a mind of its own, and if it does, we certainly don't know about it yet.
That's exactly what I was thinking about
Android is such a boss.
I agree! The Android is the best thing about this series. I came here just to rave about her!
I'll call it now. Six is hallucinating all of this. Some corp is holding him and inducing this hallucination to get the coordinates of the summit. That's why all the "crew members" are so persistent.
I like how they set it up so you easily know that there is something up with reality, but you're rooting for six to also know somethings going on. The realization of that even still was a surprise!
After the first time I was too suspicious because the episode was only half over. But all the probing and 3 being nice made it almost obvious. The only one I didn't see coming was the last one.
3 being nice is always a good indicator that something is wrong :D
Yes, I called the others but the last one was a total surprise to me.
You're right, I think that the thing they're using on him is also messing with his memory wipe, hence the flashbacks to his wife and kid
Well, at least 6 is back on deck.
These idiot scientists don't seem to know the text is unreadable in their simulation and Six can tell the whole thing is fake. Plus everyone is being super weird.

If the simulation to access prior memories requires the target to enter a dream state, they wouldn't be able to read. Our brains turn off the logic centre responsible for reading when we enter dreams.
Not true. I first saw this theory in an old Batman episode, and believed it myself for many years. However, experiments with lucid dreaming have shown me it's entirely possible to read in a dream. Just today I had a dream where I read some words on a computer screen (I am a nerd and have nerd dreams).
When you see text in dreams, your brain basically fills in the blanks with random words. As you said, the logic center is turned off so it's not going to be coherent. Sometimes it just happens to make sense, other times it's pure gibberish. Today, the words I read didn't make sense. If I had been in a bit deeper sleep I might have triggered a lucid dream state, but since I was just dozing I kind of went "wtf" and woke up.
So what we saw in the show was nearly accurate, but I believe it would have been real words he saw instead of lorem ipsum.

As I said above, I really don't think that theory is responsible for any of it. Besides for me nothing changes from a normal to a lucid dream. The one I outline perfectly makes sense for both. If that brain center is turned off, it should remain turned off even in a lucid dream and it shouldn't be possible to read at all. It's just that everything you experience in a dream has to be imagined, and it's impossible to imagine something that requires such a big amount of precision and consistency. Even in the real world we can't read every word at once, we have to go word by word, and it's alright because the thing we are reading exists, in a dream you would have to consistently imagine the whole page, every single letter, every single stroke, every single dot, every single space, every single tiny detail, it has to be perfect or otherwise it would be gibberish.
This guy had a super power
The reason he couldn't read the screens is because his brain didn't know what should be on those screens, so it put jibberish where it assumed text would probably be.
After the first simulation failed they said they turned the realism up, most likely by supplementing missing information which they probably didn't think was necessary until he pointed it out as the first red flag to him.
turn off the logic centre responsible for reading when we enter dreams.
No... that's not the problem. The problem is that just as 6 said, you simply can't imagine these things in a dream, you can even "read" albeit nonsense in a dream but then you look away, look at it again, and it's a different non-sense. I do read things like labels and stuff like that on a regular basis in a dream. But for example, Nivea will suddenly be Navae the second time I look at it :D that's also the easiest giveaway I am dreaming. Either I look at the time and then look at it again (it's suddenly a completely different time) or I look at a text 2 times. Your dream just can't keep up with it. And a long text is unreadable, because your brain has to "imagine" all of it at once, project it and make it stable and all that shit, it's WAAAAAYYY too much work.
They should have opted for some Lorem Ipsum.
That's what you get for using immature VR tech.
The Android is just sleepwalking, nothing to see here
Hmm, so Three did something so bad that it upsets both Sara (Sandroid?) and Ryo? Hopefully that's revealed this season. :)
Sandroid!!! It's official, you heard it here first!
Talk about a total mindfuck...
u/JosephMallozzi Do you watch Rick & Morty?
Alas, no - but I hear great things.
