We went here several months ago with a large group and it was great. We thought that we needed to return with our college age sons. We made a family trip and drove about 1 & 1/2 hours for a Sunday breakfast. They like many places were short handed, but it didn’t seem like it as the staff was hustling, Tony was following the rush through and was table touching and following up with guests. A great experience and I highly recommend this place for everyday and special occasions. The location is accessible, it is unique, and again well worth visiting. (As a footnote I don’t review average experiences, if they are bad no reviews horrible yes.)

I saw a news clip about the place and we took our son and his fiancé there for fun. We got there a little early so I checked in all excited to give the password and planned to make a fun surprise out of it since we had them believing it was just an errand we were running before lunch. I was in return told I was early and our table wasn’t ready. The vive of how that was stated and the fact that the table was not ready until 15 min after our reservation was disappointing and took some of the excitement out of it. I expected more when we went in. It was small and the tables were all close. There were some cool 80s things on the wall and surrounding areas but it felt cluttered and dark. The menu was minimal and food was just okay. You had to order fries separately. The tater tots which were also ordered and charged separately were good. I got a chicken sandwich and it was so messy from the condiments which made the bun really soggy and impossible to eat. I took the chicken off the bun and ate it separately. This is the only place I have ever been to that added a 18% gratuity (even if it’s someone dining alone) to be split between ALL the staff! They do however encourage you to also add a separate tip for your server which we did because she was the best part of the visit. She was so friendly, animated and gave good service. I still find that strange and would have liked for the full gratuity to go to our server like everywhere else does. This was planned just as a fun novelty visit and we won’t be returning.

Very fun experience from the entry and providing the password to enter the speakeasy to the the end and. Our server was awesome, making recommendations about entrees and beverages. We were there for Brunch. Total comfort food. Yummy.

I’m not sure what all the hype is about!! It was just ok. Nice presentation with the drinks, but the food wasn’t really all that, plus I was not pleased with the 18% fee, it was not a tip, it was just a extra fee!!! I felt pressured to leave another at least 18% for a tip.

We made reservations for a group of 10. Great food. Attentive service, good team service. BTW we drove 2 hours one way to be here. Easy to get there off 6th street exit by HD Museum. Loved the donut holes and burgers. Also the breakfast food biscuits & gravy, pancakes all were great. Awesome drink menu, Darth Vader, crockpot old fashion, boozy shakes. Drink and food menus clear, concise, and unique. The environment and staff were inviting and appealed to our geek sides. Highly recommend good team service.

I will admit I had this built up in my head more than what it actually is. I based the experiences on the pictures I've seen, but the restaurant is actually very small and doesn't resemble the photos at all.
That said, our kids loved using the password and checking out the old-fashioned TVs. I wish there had been more 80s gear than just star wars and gremlins. Soooo many fun things from that time.
Our server was very good, and our food was unique and tasty...we had the fish fry complete with horseradish pancake and salted sourdough toast.

This 80/90s themed restaurant is a definite must go to! After walking into the main door you are greeted with what looks like a small grocery store. You have to give the cashier the secret phrase. You are then guided through a special passage into a big room filled with tvs, vcrs, and 80s/90s memorabilia everywhere.
The menu is on the small side but it’s ok because everything sounds amazing. We had o e of the adult shakes that was sooo good! We also had the chicken sandwhich and breakfast burger. So so good!!!!! And of course the fruity pebble pancakes! So fun!
We will def be back with friends

Had a reservation and waited over 25 minutes to be seated. The server forgot about us for about 15 minutes and even admitted it and apologized but then comped us an appetizer so that was nice. Food was just ok, nothing to rave about. Serving warm water was not a fan of that. Music was way too loud.

This is the best restaurant! It looks like a tv repair shop but go inside and give them the secret code and they take you inside a secret door to the restaurant !! It is so cute! The food and drinks are amazing! One of a kind place!

This is a trip back in time - LOVED the decor, calm lighting, star wars and other nostalgic memories of our childhoods like cartoons on a Saturday morning. Only now we're adults and they blend that kid magic with alcohol drinks for a super fun time.
Loved the storefront and password to get back to the restaurant - the staff was super friendly and made sure our order was perfect- generous portions and my favorite was the cherry shake with the cherry pie and whipped cream on top! I was a kid again and the food was delicious. We'll be back!

A very fun experience. Don’s Diner takes you back to the 90’s with a secret password.
The food was phenomenal! Delicious and huge portions. You must order a shake. They are unbelievably awesome. Friendly efficient staff.

This is a great place to go for good food, and great "old fashioned" atmostphere if we must call the 80s old fashioned. They play TV show reruns, have great service, casual but hip ambience and boozy shakes...can't go wrong here, I think. It's great for a date, a group outing (make reservations), or breakfast. I went with a friend, and then we took our husbands back, and will be back again.

The instant you walk into this place, you smile. It is so corky and fun the way it is decorated, with beach umbrellas, mismatched dishes, and old-timey kitchen furniture. They have a main bar as you walk in and then around the corner there is this cute, super small bar with one bartender (maybe fits like 4 or 5 people). There is also another room in the back that had the old fashioned kitchen set-up. We made a reservation for Friday night and we are glad we did. When we got there at 630pm the place was pretty packed. Our waiter was very nice and attentive. The menu is super fun and eclectic. They serve breakfast all day, but also have traditional diner foods and boozy shakes/ fun cocktails. I tried the italian beef and my boyfriend had Don's burger with the gravy on top. We also got the special cake as dessert to go. This night was really fun. The music playing felt like it was taking straight from my playlist so I loved it, very 80s vibe. The TVs in the bar had Seinfeld and Doogie Howser playing. They played into the theme really well at this place. The only thing we didnt like about this experience was that they put us at the only 2 seater table in the middle of the place, behind a bunch of other tables and directly in front of the bar. Throughout the whole meal people were squeezing past us and behind us. There is no reason this table should be here at all. We have been victim to this dreaded table at other restaurants, however, so it must be something that all places do no matter how awkward it is for the customers. We will definitely be back here to try more of the unique menu, but we will most certainly be requesting a different table.
