ASU Online Reviews

My classes at ASU had relevant and interesting content and have taught me a lot about my field. The instructions and expectations were always very detailed and easy to understand. The professors were all very responsive. I feel adequately prepared for graduate school. The thing I liked most about being an online student was that I could complete my work whenever I wanted. My biggest complaint would be some of my bigger classes took a while to grade assignments and we did not always get them back before the next ones were due which makes it hard to improve.
I transferred in for financial reasons after having completed three years at a private school on the east coast. I have had the worst educators of my life at ASU Online. They're callous, rude, and disengaged- many operate based on absurdly erroneous misconceptions about whatever industries in which they've failed. I believe that is why they aren't transparent about the professors they use for their online programs. (Course registration often lists "staff" in the professor column.) Struck by my professors' low reading comprehension levels, I would look up their credentials, and they were always minimal. Many of them seemed never to have actually worked in any of the industries in which they claim to have expertise, which can be frustrating when you, as a student, have- for decades. This school is for kids who have flunked out of community college. If you want an education, AVOID ASU ONLINE. *NOTE: If you're disabled, DON'T notify your professors or you risk immediate failure- No joke.
Cannot get financial aid for summer, disorganized, difficult to get counseling appointments so you know what to take next, lack communication, classes are oversized, do not consider ASL a language so don’t bother if you transfer with two semesters already (it won’t count), overpriced, overrated, tried to charge me fees for classes I didn’t take and withheld transcripts when I was trying to transfer schools, wait times on phones are atrociously long and sometimes you won’t get a call back at all, some professors just love to hear themselves talk, some are okay, some like to change dates and times without warning for exams, lots of use of lockdown browser which isn’t always great when you’re a single parent. I just don’t recommend this school especially if you are from out of state. It was a last resort for me at the time and I regret it but I am now at a new university and couldn’t be happier.
